NY's Core Consists of Only Four Players?

A team heading for 50 losses cannot claim to have accomplished much, but Knicks officials must comfort themselves somehow. So when April 15 mercifully arrives, they will wrap themselves in a spreadsheet with lots of empty boxes.

“We opened up enough cap space to get two maxes,

Add bosh and Camby to that core, playoff team right there.

i dont mind saving up the rest of the money for someone else like Deron, CP, Melo, etc.

Btw, Lee, Gallo, Chandler, Douglas, and Walker is 5 people.

By the time CP3, Deron contract is up isn't a Max contract gonna be like $9M or something like that?

But when given the opportunity Saturday to say definitively that Lee should receive one of the two "max" contracts the Knicks can offer this summer, D'Antoni gave himself some wiggle room. "I love David Lee," D'Antoni said. "I love guys that have that talent. But we have to wait and see about all these guys." New York Daily News

"I think that he's good in the community, good on the team and he's got skills that rival anybody in the league," D'Antoni said. "Having said all that and I love him, that's something we're going to have to see where all this is going. There's so much (salary cap) room, so many (players). There are so many factors that it's hard for me to say yeah or no." New York Daily News

The losing has gotten to Lee, who said he will not re-sign if he thinks the Knicks will be bad again. "If you were going to tell me for the next five years we're going to win 20 games, I definitely wouldn't want to be back," Lee said. "But I think things are looking up with the situation Mr. Walsh has created. It's not fun losing in New York. What I what I hope is with the situation Mr. Walsh has created, we have money to spend on multiple guys, or a guy like LeBron, the best player in the league. "From what I've heard, it's equally as fun to win in New York as miserable as it is to lose." New York Post

Lee said he realizes James' decision impacts his own future. "There's a million different scenarios and all of them involve what LeBron and those guys are going to do," Lee said. "At this point, they're in control of this summer, LeBron, Dwyane Wade and Bosh. And the guys like myself, Joe Johnson, Boozer, there'll be a domino effect on when those guys do make a decision. A lot of it is playing off what those guys do. "Hopefully I played well enough I'm going have some options," Lee added. "I love it here in New York and have to see what happens." New York Post

'Antoni sat down with McGrady yesterday to deny The Post's report that contended he wants to move on without McGrady next season. D'Antoni told McGrady nothing has been decided but warned McGrady he will need a big summer of work to be considered. New York Post

That doesn't mean that D'Antoni could not co-exist with Mullin, although it is worth noting that one of Mullin's best friends is Mark Jackson, who finished second to D'Antoni for the Knicks' head coaching job.

Mullin and Mark would be

Chris Mullin? Dude's a smart man. Don Nelson and Ellison treated him dirty.

I'd welcome here with open arms. He's a good drafter too.

Mullin has made his fair of mistakes, but he was on the verge of building something here in Golden State... until he got forced out by Nelson and Rowell.

His draft picks have been hit or miss, as well.

Yeah thats what i meant. Keep getting them mixed up due to the amount of articles ive been reading about them moving and everything

And, his draft picks have been pretty solid imo. All their young talent can definitely improve if Nellie wasnt the coach.

Nice win by the Knicks, even though it's against the Clippers. & lol @ Earl Barron playing for us...

I dont see much of the criticism people had against Rodriquez....

but shoot me

Running this team - Rodriquez > Douglas
Getting Steals - Rodriquez > Douglas
Offensive Game - Rodriquez > Douglas

Overall Defense - Rodriquez < Douglas

& i don't see how we missed out on Eric Gordon, he's nothing special to me. If we missed out on anyone it was Brook Lopez, Anthony Randolph & Augustin
T-Mac Doesn't See LeBron Signing With Knicks
Apr 05, 2010 10:57 AM EST

Tracy McGrady now says he does not think LeBron James will sign with the Knicks this summer.

"When I talk about players coming here, obviously LeBron is the guy," McGrady said. "My honest opinion, I don't see it happening. I really don't. It's set for him right now [in Cleveland]."

Center Earl Barron made his Knicks debut, scoring 10 points in 18 minutes as the Knicks notched their first road win against the Clippers since March 25, 1998.

Before the game, the Knicks felt a tremor from an earthquake 250 miles away in Baja California.

"Yes, we felt it," D'Antoni said, "but it wasn't that exciting."

Recently obtained Clippers playmaking point guard Steve Blake, whom Donnie Walsh tried to obtain from Portland, will be a free agent and will be of interest.

"It's coming up real soon, if a team like the Knicks wanted me to be there, I'd be thrilled about it," Blake said. "I love Coach D'Antoni and the way he plays. I'm a guy who loves uptempo."
McGrady doesn't think LeBron is coming
April 5, 2010 By ALAN HAHN  [email protected]

LOS ANGELES - Tracy McGrady has no idea if he'll be a Knick next season. But he doesn't think LeBron James will be one. "To me, in my honest opinion, I don't see it happening," McGrady said of James bolting Cleveland for New York. "I really don't."

For McGrady, who sat out the Knicks' 113-107 win over the Clippers with left knee soreness last night, it was a much stronger take on the situation...

and finally we waive him

The New York Knicks have waived Cuttino Mobley, per a league memo sent to all 30 NBA teams.

Mobley was acquired from the Clippers along with Tim Thomas in exchange for Zach Randolph in November 2008. Mobley's heart condition precluded him from every playing with the Knicks.
Toronto Interested In Noah S&T, Not Lee Or Beasley
Apr 05, 2010 1:11 PM EST

Noah_Joakim_chi.jpg
The Raptors are believed to have little interest in David Lee in a sign-and-trade given Lee cannot play center and Toronto needs a center to complement Andrea Bargnani.

Toronto also would not be interested in any type of sign-and-trade deal with Miami, as they are not interested in Michael Beasley.

The Raptors would be interested in Joakim Noah, should Bosh agree to a move to Chicago.

This can screw up our plans with Bosh, unless he truly want to be a Knick and don't want a sign and trade.

Yeah, we gotta wait for July 1st. The good thing is that baseball season has started..

I'm not worried about what people are saying now, free agency is going to be a domino effect right now. The big three (Bosh, Wade & LeBron) have the ball in their court, no pun intended. Depending on what they do, that's when GM's will have a better idea on what they can do. Right now, its a clusterf___.
