[COLOR=#red]No one on NT even wears sneakers anymore.

Tap, tap, pullin' for life. I can honestly say that NT has been a premiere source for the lulz for me and some of my closest friends since HS. :nthat:

--edit--

I do miss the approval process though. JRose with the list of names that didn't make the cut was hilarious.

As a collective group, I feel that Niketalk should have been higher on that list. Not because of my association to NT, but because in my opinion, I truly believe that our members have contributed just as much as anyone else to the sneaker industry. Our voice and influence is unmatched.

For me personally to even be mentioned on that list is surreal and an honour. It's crazy to click through it and see the names of those I respect and admire so much in the sneaker world, Tinker, Phil Knight (I'm expecting another cease and desist letter anytime now big guy) and of course, the incomparable Michael Jordan.

Michael, f'ing, Jordan! (sorry for the rule break).

I could have done without Gentry though.

I'm kidding.

Not really.

But the list is incorrect and incomplete, there's no mention of Method Man as co-founder and that's criminal. He's done more than anyone else for this site and ultimately for the culture than anyone I know.

Nick DePaula was an NT'er before he went to ISS/Sole Collector? Wasn't he ******** or something like that?

Oh. Lol, his S/N is censored.

Does making a Complex List even mean anything? All Complex does is make lists for everything.

Great driver for traffic. Helps a lot when it comes to SEO as well. More clicks = more ad dollars. The lists have a purpose.

DJ AM should have been on that list. Or maybe his whole crew that was on here.

NT is probably the most influential. How can you not respect the birthplace of these so called influential people? That doesn't make sense.

How are we in last place?

The only people other than Nelson C/Meth that should be higher up on that list are Prefontaine, MJ, and Tinker.
Why? These are CURRENT influential people.
Prefontaine was influential to running during the '70s almost as much as MJ was influential to basketball during the '90s. Prefontaine was the first poster boy for Nike; MJ is the biggest, most popular, most influential poster boy from Nike. I'm not saying that without Prefontaine, there wouldn't be an MJ, but the fact that Prefontaine was the most dominant athlete in his sport during his reign, and that MJ IS the most dominant player ever, goes to show that if you market something by athletes for athletes, could mean that a new start influences the future markets, and, in this case, it's the sneaker industry.

Saying Prefontaine and MJ aren't influential to the current sneaker generation is like saying James Madison and Thomas Jefferson isn't influential to the current government we all live in. They laid the foundation for us to walk on in our daily lives. Also, NikeTalk wouldn't be NikeTalk had Nelson C/Meth not existed. It would probably be like a retro of Nike Park - a member loathing, hateful, pornography filled "sneaker" forum. The same goes for Tinker; he is influential in today's sneaker world because he influenced these designers that are making the shoes being bought by the #1 influence - consumers.

Complex is a joke and even tho 99.99% of their lists don't mean ish to me, Niketalk should've been in the top 10.
But hey that's Complex the same people that said Wiz Khalifa's album is the most anticipaded album for the rest of 2012 :x.
