Adidas NMD thread

I dont think its smart. I dont think people buy adidas nmd because they are limited or for the hype. This is the first sneaker adidas has produced in years which is decent and can compete with Nike. Much larger releases would still sell out. If anything Adidas are copying the Jordan mould and aren't being very imaginative
Kidding, but not really though.

I never said people buy NMDs because of hype, I said adidas was building hype by keeping the shoes limited. It's not a new or foreign technique, companies of all shapes and sizes have been using it for years to great success. But, now that you mention it, there are definitely a lot of people buying the shoe largely because of the hype around it (resellers for example). In fact I'd say that's the case with the majority of people buying the shoe right now. So many were on the fence initially but after seeing how fast they sold out, they're all trying to cop. It's not like NMD fans are purists, immune to the hype.

Also the Ultra Boost was & is a much bigger shoe for adidas impact & sales wise than the NMD, the NMD still has to prove itself outside of the "hypebeast" market. And considering the UB is the most popular runner on the market right now, I'd say it's been helping adidas compete with Nike just fine for a good stretch before the NMD showed up.

Larger releases of the NMD will sell out right now, primarily because of the hype that adidas has built up around them by keeping them limited & in demand so far.

anyone in here that owns a pair of NMDs, how are they comfort wise? how do they compare to the Ultra Boosts and even the Yeezy 350s (a very comfortable, underrated shoe when it comes to weight, and long term comfort)

So i went to buy the Nice Kicks / Yellow NMD at SNS in Paris, one of the most unorganised dodgy **** I've ever seen, arrived at 8am only 5-6 people waiting around the entrance, as i came one of the guys said apparently theres a written list of people who have been queuing since midnight (******** just his friends). Day goes on and more people arrive, some joining the que, others are hanging around the front. Come 10:30 around 30 minutes before the store opens a group of guys (around 20) start pushing people around and organising themselves into a que infront of the store hence everyone else who had been queuing was pushed back, there were some arguments but these guys were in a big group and being really aggressive and were looking for a fight. Store opened and one of the guys with a "list" started letting people in (he dint even work at SNS) but seemed to be organising everything letting his friends get pairs.

In the end all the pairs were gone to people on this "list" who appeared close to the time of the store opening leaving 3 pairs left all big size's (Managed to buy a size 12 US)

A couple of people talked to the staff but they seemed uninterested and shrugged it off saying they can't do a anything, even though they knew nothing about a list being created. (since pairs are being sold i doubt they care)

Very disappointed with SNS Paris, don't think i will be queuing up there anymore seeing as its not a first come first serve basis

To top it off, the Yellow NMD has been delayed their so dint even have a shot at that!

Does anyone know if this release of NMDs went up to a size 14? It would be much appreciated and if it's a no go I can finally sleep.
