RFID will be good for authenticating but more importantly will be good for finding where these leaks come from.

Adidas loads up the RFID with info about which warehouse the shoe comes from then they see a boutique advertising it before the release date so they go in and scan to see which warehouse let an early pair slip through the cracks and then they increase security at that warehouse

Anyone that has a connect to get that many pairs of "the most limited v2" from the adidas warehouse wouldn't be that stupid to post those flexing pics online early....especially with RFID tag.
