I had those same sandals (I don’t remember anyone using the term “slides” back then) the summer of ‘96. Had no idea I was rocking the same ones as MJ at the same time

When I store my extra pairs I’m probably going to be weird and OCD about it and use the shoetrees for my other Js and put paper inserts in the 2019s just to make it seem that much more original loll.

Yup. Those look just like my OGs. Same hue

I was gonna say, exactly what IS going on with the upper? Indeed it has the effect of the red tint but in the pics it almost looks to me more like just a lighter black, almost like a gray tint. I don’t actually see any red, just a contrast with the lace loops. Very interesting.

I was gonna say, exactly what IS going on with the upper? Indeed it has the effect of the red tint but in the pics it almost looks to me more like just a lighter black, almost like a gray tint. I don’t actually see any red, just a contrast with the lace loops. Very interesting.

I think maybe it was their best attempt to recreate the look of the contrast. If the that was the case they did awesome imo.

these may be responsible for my sneaker obsession, 8th grade of middle school mom’s was able to get my pair through a co worker from Nordstrom. kept the OG box & receipt...

when they retro’ed in 2001 i bought 2 pair’s, wore one into the ground and keep the other DS, still haven’t worn em yet. lol

unfortunately i’ll have to return and repurchase these next month due to my QC standards.

sloppy “craftsmanship” caused glue globs to ooze out in between the upper and the midsole...

Probably to separate itself from the already seen Black Concord the year before and staying closer to uniform.
The black and red technically was the only true Bulls colorway other than the low.
