AIR JORDAN 3 BLACK CEMENT - NOVEMBER 23, 2024

It was lol. Why many felt it was a scam, those that helped felt they were doing Gods work I guess lol. I don’t remember the exact details but I think the dude had some sob story about health issues and why he couldn’t get the L&Fs. I think some chipped in and bought a resell pair or something like that. Someone correct me if I’m wrong lol

He allegedly promised his kid a pair of L&Fs and couldn't afford to buy pair for resale due to some kinda financial hardships... He hit em with the "I donate to charity" spiel too iirc

Some NT'ers, being the loving kindhearted souls that they are, started a GoFundMe to help him attain a pair. Little did they know, ole boy just bought his kid a PS5 and other big ticket items for his bday but I think that was only mentioned after he secured the bag.

Grade A finesse, if I do say so myself

Dude: I spent all I had getting my kid the best gifts I could afford but couldn't get him what he desired the most. I feel like I let him down😔

NT: Man that sucks, we've all been there before... We got you man, enjoy!

Dude: Thank you so much! He loves them, NT is the best!

NT: No problem, glad we could help... Btw what were the other gifts you got him?

Dude: PS5, a couple pair of amiri jeans, and court side seats to the Lakers game.

This is exactly how it went. God bless those and that actually helped tho.

I’m still baffled at how one qualifies to get into Top Star. Spending that much on eBay is wild.

you forgot to mention that the dude managed to snag himself his own pair too. Lol

My 6-yo daughter saw a picture of Kanye wearing these and absolutely needs them. She wrote a letter to Santa asking for them last night, but he has never come through for her in the past so I’m not hopeful. Please help me make her dream a reality if you can. She wears a mens size 10.5 btw.

Is that guy still on here? Love to know if the kid is still wear the shoes and how he's enjoying the PS5

He's definitely still around. He's a good dude, and that whole situation got way out of hand.

There seem to be quite a few misconceptions about TopStar. No idea about now, but the initial invites were sent out based on your purchase history through the years, not a set amount of money. That's how I got in. At one point they added some thresholds to stay in, but I never once saw a "you gotta spend $x to get in!" Basically as long as you bought something each time you got a collection offered to you, you were good.

he should've returned the money to the other members if he was really a good dude

Ah, good to know. I was under the impression that you needed to spend $1500/quarter. With that being said, it’s highly unlikely I’ll ever get an invite since I can’t even remember the last time I bought shoes off eBay. Damn. Lol

For a trial basis for some it has been 1500 for almost a year. That’s for some initial top star ppl to see if they qualify/gain full access. They track your spending for full time access to see if they want to renew you each year. My second year just ended Monday and I’m waiting to see if I get renewed.

Edit - I just got the message to join the waitlist. Spent over 1200 and had a $300 order canceled/refunded due to FedEx loosing my package :smh:

Ha, funny you said that. Just went to look, and same for me. I hardly bought anything through them this year, and I missed my last collection drop. Eh well.

I think they’re starting to limit how often you can be a part of it. I saw at one point my tracker was almost where it needed to be before that $300 order was refunded and my tracker dipped below the half way point. I hit every collection dropped and made multiple purchases throughout the year too.

I feel like the last couple of drops, I was buying stuff I was just lukewarm on, just to stay in. It did come up pretty big for me during my time as a member though. Helped me get a handful of things I struck out on over and over. Not heartbroken I'm out though.

Funniest thing about that thread is that the dudes who donated was trying to gaslight the ones who thought it was crazy

"What's $20 bucks to put a smile on a child's face?" "You know what, it'll come back around"

They all ended up paying resale anyway
