2024’s are paper-thin. I prefer whatever they were cooking with in 2018.
Separately, don’t remember this drama in 2018.

No they never sold out. Wasn’t a restock at all. Just the games Nike plays. Even now they still aren’t sold out. These will be “restocked” a couple of more times in the near future.

I’m sure there were plenty of qc issues with the 18 pair. These happen almost every release. Even on limited drops
Picked up from FTL. I'm very pleased with this pair 
The first pair the store employee brought out was kinda meh. They were cool enough to grab another pair for me though.
Very nice and soft leather through out. I'm pretty sure the leather used on the mudguard is the same as the black toe low J1s.

Facts, they overpadded them dramatically and they look like skate shoes. The "leather" is 99% plastic and a ton of people have yellow rubber on the toe portion of the sole. Trash.

I’m not one to over inspect but I’ve seen quite a few uneven toeboxes on these. The stitching panels are not sewed on evenly. I felt like a pain in the *** in the store , which I was lol

The padding on these is really thin. A lot thinner than the 2018 pair for sure. I would say as far as looks, 24’>18’. As far quality and comfort, 18’>24’.

6 years after release if they still feel like hard plastic then you never really wore them. Mine feel very nicely broken in.
