Air Jordan XX8 aka 2013, new "Proplate Zoom" Technology OFFICIAL THREAD.

I wonder if you cut off the shroud, will the look be of that of the monkey paw? like on the VC 1s.

The VC1s had a whole new look when you cut the shroud off.

EDIT: Forgot about the Morf series with GP, Pip, Kidd.

I liked the GPs and Kidds with the interchangeable shrouds. Though both were OD heavy, the concept was cool aesthetically.

From seeing Westbrook wearing the XX8s, I think they would have that "monkey paw" look that the Shox VC and the Morf Series had with the shroud cut off.

I wouldn't be the one to cut the shroud off, though. Not if I'm spending $250 for the XX8s. :lol Much respect to whoever can afford to make that move.

yeah the morfs were cool in theory but they were heavy and had no ventilation when zipped up fully causing perspiration on the inside. :x

we just gotta get one of the rich nters to take one for the team and cut the shroud. :lol

yes they are basketball shoes and like anything you spend good money on, you want the best bang for your buck your not going to buy a sports car only for the track. your going to want to enjoy them on the town or wherever.

This Jordan XX8's obviously most similar to the Gary Payton's "The Glove" from the 90's, but there's also a very reference to Jason Kidds signature shoe.

It had an seamless removable outer with attached outsole. The XX8 would really be nice with some type of graphic design to liven up the overall appearance of the shoe. It worked with the XX, and with the different embrodery on the XX3.

So many opinions out here. I last left a comment here around page 25 on the mobile version of NT, read the next few postings and had to post again.

Anyway, this shoe is horrible. It really is. Growing up waiting to see what JB will release the next year, there was always a performance upgrade. So, an argument where OG "sneakerheads" don't like these is pretty much invalid.

Personally, I've liked every shoe that JB has released in their signature Roman numeral series. Even if the original shoe was terrible (XIXs) Jordan brand changed them and I was happy with them (like releasing low tops or the SEs) You can still play basketball with them and they were stylish.

I hope that JB does the same with these. I think they will, too. They may make a model similar to what they did with the XIXs and expose the part of the shoe that is covered.

Ultimately, the phrase we all like to use, "To each their own" will always apply. If you like them, buy them. If you don't like them, don't buy them. Simple.

Side Note: I would never play basketball with low top shoes. The drop in weight and slight increase in mobility is not worth potentially straining your ankles severely. Mid and high tops help prevent those kind of injuries.

I really believe that Tinker made this shoe for himself rather than what would MJ wear if he was still playing. This shoe exudes Tinker's current frame of mind/personality and look at when he said he took influence from that nike combat boot. In the promo pics you can see dude is out there maybe even in a midlife crisis wearing a backpack and that hat :lol
