a little info for you concerning the numbers on the shoes.....

For those of you receiving the Retro 1's. Here is some information
about the markings on the shoe:

3 = # of homeruns
51 = # of RBI's
It's actually B & B for Birmingham Barons (not S & B)

These are some of Michael Jordan's key minor league baseball stats with
the Birmingham Barons: 3 home runs, 51 RBI's, and 30 stolen bases. Some
in the media, even today, look back on MJ's stint as a baseball player
as a mistake, a failed experiment, a bust. Those who view it in those
terms, choosing to measure the success or failure of that experience
through statistics alone, are entirely missing the point. Consider,
Michael Jordan had completed his Three-Peat, had accomplished all he'd
set out to accomplish in his chosen profession, and was in dire need of
a long rest. And on top of it all, his father James was taken from him
in an untimely tragedy. Understandable, then, his need to step away from
the game he so loved to reassess his priorities and his place in the
world. Baseball, his first love, came calling, and he answered as much
out of wanting to escape the crucible of pro basketball as for the
longing for the joy of sport he wished to find once again. Tinker
Hatfield went to see MJ play baseball just once, and what struck Tinker
was how much fun Michael was having. The phrase "for the love of the
game" has been somewhat overwrought and overused by now, but it couldn't
have been more accurate a description of how MJ had once again fallen in
love with playing a game. In the locker room afterwards, MJ wasn't the
superstar surrounded by lights, cameras, microphones and journalists; he
was just another player, one of many wanting to make the big club,
laughing and joking around with the other guys with the relaxed ease
familiar to locker rooms shared by any close-knit team. The one
"superstar" gesture MJ did make, however, was to buy the Barons a new
team bus. Michael looks back fondly to his days with the Barons, for it
was there that he reconnected with the joy of sport and the freedom of
expression that only athletic competition can provide. To this day,
Michael maintains friendships with some of his old teammates.

I work for a Finishline here In Phoenix and we just got an e-mail yesterday saying Finishline is the only mall based retailer that is going to have them. Ifanyone else heard different i apologize in advance.

I think I'll cop both, they look pretty fresh. Personally, I'd rather have two pairs of I's than the one pair of the XX3's coming out thefollowing weekend if I have to drop about $230-$250.
