LOTR is long and the first one is the slowest of the 3. If you're not into fantasy or drawn out stories then it's possible and reasonable not to like them.

Never seen any of the HP movies. I understand the appeal but just wasn't interested.

Seen 2 of the twilight movies (sometimes you have to compromise) and they were awful, just awful. I just don't understand how anyone outside of a female teenager could like them.
