and we're done

Not even gonna talk bout this win cause it shouldn't have even come down to the wire. We desperately need Camby/Sheed back. Can't believe we didn't go for KMart. Kidd is washed on offense and defense. Felton too small and slow. Shump still recovering. Guards are going to continue getting to the rim. Tyson refuses to contest shots at the rim. I understand he has to preserve fouls but damn its a walking layup line. Amar'e has shown more willingness to contest shots. Melo too. That block Tyson had on Rubio at the end was the best he's had in weeks. And his defense in the post isn't much to brag about this year either. I don't care how many oops he catches or boards he gets until he becomes the defensive stopper I've seen him be in the past Tyson on my isht list.

BTW, have you guys been looking at Shumperts stat lines the last couple of games? It's absolute doodoo :x

Dude had a donut night. A part of me thinks we might've rushed him back too soon. Rose tore his ACL the same day Shumpert tore his; makes me think Chicago is taking their time with him. I understand everyone heals differently and stuff, but Shumpert doesn't look anything close to what he was last year before the injury. He looks like more physically fit version of Landry Fields. Dude is awful right now.

IDK, maybe I'm being too impatient/unfair on the dude. I guess we need to give the guy another month or so to get back into things. Amare didn't get back into a groove till at least a month or so.

Which is why I was puzzled by the Stat benching in the last 4 minutes or so. The only explanation must be his minutes are still an issue.

Melo unintentionally fumbled on that Woodson question crediting the team. The media will now cook up a melo vs woody beef. They'll use his reply and Woodson calling him out for his D in the third as their selling points lol

^Kidd gotta give up even more minutes. He's barely productive now and I don't foresee it getting any better. He played 30 minutes tonight smh

Tina mentioned that Woody was the fastest Knick coach to 50 wins and asked why he thinks that is and Melo pretty much replied 'good players.'

I am a bit concerned too as well but I think you are right that we have to give him more time. My bigger concern is Kidd's dwindling production. His minutes really need to go down after the all-star break however Woody has to play him because Shump isn't consistently effective yet. I don't think Kidd is "done" but has been overused and we need him rested for the playoffs.

This game was just like the last close game we had against Minny except this was way more boring. I wasn't excited at all in the end when we won. I think the overally play had me that disappointed.

A win is a win though. Really not liking our body language as we play though, coming out slow and unfocused in the 1st and 3rd and overall something is not completely clicking. Might need a change in line up after the asb. That's why this game was looking like the Wiz one for a while.

It is like players are just waiting for the break the way they're playing and not completely responding to Woodson.

You want a restaurant or you want a nice bar to watch the game? Check out Central Bar on East 9th. Good food, good beer and they're always playing the game there. It's more like a restaurant during hours that aren't so "late". I took dates there so many times and got laid many times. So, you can assured it's nice enough for any occasion

I honestly think the team just needs rest right now. Remember, we're the oldest team in the NBA and it's really showing. The month of January wasn't a great month for us, considering we had players injured and had to play our older guys more than we wanted to. Hopefully the all-star break will be useful for us and give this team the rest that we really need.

I'm hoping we give Shumpert some more time as well. I don't care so much for his offensive game as I do for his defensive game. We'll need him more on the defensive end come playoff time. I wouldn't complain if he developed some sort of 3-point shot though. It seems like most defensive ''specialists" in the NBA have poor offensive games, but are great spot up shooters. I.E. Battier, Bowen, Posey, Allen, etc.

Playing solid defense works a little differently than playing offense. As it's always mentioned--Defense is all about effort. Once you're a good defender, it's hard to turn into a bad one. A lot of what Shumpert did defensively was based off his work ethic and athletic physique. I say he needs a bit more time to get adjusted to the game speed and have his mind catch up to his body. Amare struggle the same way Shumpert is struggling right now. He just needs more time.

I have a strong feeling he's going to cut off his hair eventually and start playing better ball

Amare needs to get more minutes

Yeah, I didn't understand why Amare only got 21 mins tonight, when he was getting close to 30 the other games. Maybe there's still an issue with his playing mins and keeping him fresh for the long term. Whatever the issue is, I hope Woody keeps him fresh. We'll need him come playoff time. This all-star break couldn't have come in a better time. If things pan out the way they should, we'll play Milwaukee in the first round and hopefully knock them out in 4-5 games too. We'll the need the rest if we're going to play Indiana or Chicago in the second round.
