and we're done

from listening to the game today, I feel like everyone is forgetting the defense was very good last year. 5th in the league in adjusted efficiency.

Offensively through 2 games it is night and day from where they finished last year. Only thing I'm skeptical about is having this offensive output travel on the road. They're not going to shoot this well and then does the ball stop? That's what I want to see.
Exactly, we were good defensively, it was the offense that was embarrassing.

And I think people need to give up this dream of Amare coming off the bench. I honestly can't see Amare willing to do that and I don't think Woodson would make that move anyway. I'd love to try it and see if it works, but I think Amare starts pouting 2 games in to the experiment and he's back starting a few games later.

A part of me thought all the talk Melo was saying before the season about winning a championship, was just to appease the media and such... But so far, I got that feel like he really is willing to do w.e. for the team. Think about it, Melo done seen James, Wade, Bosh and even Darko win championships. He's got greatness in him. And he knows it's time to put up or shut up. :smokin

Amare comes back, start him,if its obvious he doesn't fit ,its automatic second unit.like I said,no stat is a blessing.you guys need to realize that.anyway I've been playing 2k13 association,n the Knicks and melo been playing the exact same way, plus the lakers suck, like last place lol,I think my association is predicting this seasons outcome.melo MVP lol

With all the ball movement and shooters, Amare should have enough space to cut to the rim or get matched up one on one for drives. I'm starting to think this can work.
And Amare in his first year here was a solid weakside defender when it came to erasing shots, let's not forget that.

I would think we put Melo in the post and just surround him with shooters either way once the squad cools down. I don't think a team would want to risk us getting hot from the perimeter regardless which would give Melo an easier time down in the paint.

Just imaging those passes that were to Brewer under the basket going to STAT. I'll think he'll be fine.

I don't see how Shump starts. He is coming off a knee injury plus that Felton & Kidd back court is looking official.

When he comes back though that 4qt defense is something to dream about. I don't see how the will lose games they would be winning.

Kidd
Shump
Smith/Brewer/Melo
Melo/STAT
Chandler

Big or small they should not be scoring but the Knicks should

:rollin
The poll on ESPN New york

How many games will the Knicks win this season?

1. 80 or more
2. 75 or more
3. 70 or more
4. 65 or more
5 What, are you a Nets fan?

That's pretty funny.

Amare will hurt himself if he tries to play hard nosed defense.

Btw it was awesome to see Kurt mash on someone. Even though it shouldn't be a flagrant. I just love the way we are playing. I mean I haven't seen melo jump in the stands quite like that

We need Camby. And we still have loads to figure out on the offensive side

i'm pretty happy they making J. Kidd get alot of burn, thought they would be benching him most of the time. he scored 12 and got about 6 assists today. been a fan of Kidd since 1996

Amare will be fine in the offense. He's played well in fast paced offenses his whole career. He's got a nice jumper from midrange and drives and cuts as good or better than most bigs in the L. If he was a big, slow, post up guy then, yeah, he would mess up the offense, but everybody knows posting up is his WORST attribute on offense.

And as far as defense, as long as the effort is there, he'll be okay. Looks like Woody's got everybody together with positioning and talking so nobody's really being left out on an island with their man. If he's healthy, he'll fit. Let's just hope he can shake the injuries off for a few months...

I'm excited, man. We can and will be the best defensive team in the L. Teams don't hold leads in the NBA like we have the past 2 games. That shows a lot of heart and hunger. I love this old *** mother ******g team already!!

It's going to be a shame once Amare comes back and mess up the team chemistry the Knicks got going.
Again, more of that pessimistic self-fulfilling prophecy crap.

Remember when it was Melo that was gonna be the one to come back and mess up the team chemistry the Knicks had going cuz of Lin? :lol Some of yall don't even deserve to enjoy these wins.

I was just thinking about lin and melo. I know we need stat but it will all come down to how they play together and if he is willing to accept the role he is going to be asked to play which i see him as that kind of player so we should be fine. Start him get him into a grove early and have him run the offence with one of the pg with the 2nd group and melo runs the first group we need both of them its not as easy as saying oh just bench him. This shooting wont last forever

Hopefully they will be smart enough to penetrate when this happens.

More from Felton, about ball-movement, unselfish play: "We'd rather over-pass and turn the ball over than take bad shots." #Knicks #fb

Was at the game yesterday, yes it was a 12pm game but there was zero energy in the building. Game was never in question like the first game so that has been nice to see. Usually there is always concern come 4th quarter, so far so good.

Brewer does nothing for me though, and when JR plays without forcing the issue like he did yesterday....always a good thing. He had about 1-2 poor shots off the dribble but everything else was good.

12 PM games are rarely popping. Except X mas. It's all children. And less drunk people.

I remember a close win over denver being a crazy one and to a lesser extent when we played toronto and felton hit that wild 3 to win the game. I'm sure a couple celtics games were hyped. But in general I avoid going

Plus almost everyone was checking out the new stadium. BTW the changes are very nice to me. But most shops arent open

This moron SAS. Apparently the giants lost because the steelers showed up. But the knicks showed out for the city only because the heat didn't show up

The spin is just disgusting.

SAS is a self hating Giants and Knicks fan.

You guys forgetting he has a job? The dude is a news reporter/columnist, he's supposed to try to be objective and analytical/critical of his hometown teams.

He's lashes out more emotionally on the Knicks and New York teams because obviously the dude cares about them more.

Ya'll forgetting a couple years ago when he destroyed Eddie Curry, Stephon Marbury, and Isaiah Thomas and everyone was loving it. He wouldn't do that with anyone else (except Kwame).

Ya'll rather live in a society that tells you what you want to hear all the damn time?

Stephen A has made mistakes but when it comes down to the NBA and the Knicks, I rather have him covering it and representing Knick fans when things go for better or for worse, any day. Dude has been known to keep athletes in check and front office's liable.
