It wouldn't hurt, it did wonders for the Mamba. It just kind of blows that he was rounding into decent playing shape, every now and again with a flash of his former self. I just don't dig all the hate this guy gets, yes, he is lacking on defense, but he was blocking shots better in his return, but if everybody hates him because of his defense, why no hate for any other knick not named Chandler,Martin, and Shumpert ,and even Chandler blows assignments, Hibbert isn't that good, but the first game could of swore I saw the "Admiral" wearing 55. STAT still has a good offensive arsenal, what big man do we have that is any kind of offensive threat with out having to catch a lob? It just got old hearing " the team barely won when he came back" as if our shooters weren't in a slump, as if Shump wasn't working himself into game form,, as if Felton wasn't hurt, and as if Prigs wasn't being properly utilized. I am going to be honest, it is going to be rough at first, he's rusty and winded, but he'll get there. Also, how do so many people hate this dude, he is rare in this age of sports- team first attitude, STAT makes over a hunnid milli, was the face of a turnaround franchise before Melo got there and said he just wants to play a role, even from the bench. Long post, sorry, just hate the flak he gets, but D. Rose gets a pass

I love that Amare is a team player and just wants to contribute. Dont get me wrong. But what hes able to do is minimal for what we pay him. Thats where most of the hate comes from. His contract is stopping us from doing something huge in the offseason. And hes a 15 minute bench guy making 100 Mil.
If Amare was only making like 5-8 Mil coming off the bench for us I would have no problems with him. He is the opposite end of the floor equivalent to Jeffries. Very good offensive player but absolutely terrible on defense. The fact that he is the highest paid player on the team is frustrating since he cant even stay in a lineup. And we are stuck with him.
Edit: OK Melo makes 500K more per. But still, my point still stands.

Amare isn't pulling an eddy curry though. The man got injured. There's nothing he can ally do about it. We knew OT was a big possibility when we signed him. I never hate on amare for health. Terrible, horrid, abysmal defense I do hate n him lol

He can def contribute for us. As long as he doesnt make TH look like Jesus reincarnated out there and gets some buckets while spreading the floor for the rest of the offense hes good in my book.
But if hes out there ushering Hansbrough or whoever hes guarding to the rim with complementary popcorn and soda then we have a problem. He doesnt have to be Phoenix Amare or even 1st half season as a Knick Amare, just dont let scrubs roast him for 12 points in 3 minutes

Was just gonna pull Curry's name up . I respect AI's point of view about his contract, his defense is more than suspect, but given the fact Bron didn't bring his talents to the Big Apple, nor any other free agent, there's a whole lot worse that could have been signed.
