Anybody Remember Larry Johnson and the Grandmama Converse Kicks

Since Converse is now owned by Nike, I thought I would see if anyone here really remembers, has pics, or thoughts on the short lived Larry Johnson signatureshoe. So give me your thoughts, pictures, comments and memories. Honestly I liked them.

I had the aerojam, backjam and backjam 2. Loved the backjam 2 but strap broke and they had to go back. Were sold out and got the og air max uptenpo instead.

Great ad campaign, cool looking shoe. But the bright yellow React juice leaked out of a bunch of them, so portions of them were recalled. Larry Johnson wasawesome.

I was more of a KJ guy. I had so many Run N Slams. I liked the look of the AeroJams, especially the first one, but they were so friggin heavy andclunky. KJ's were light.

nice. I'm a fan of all of em. HELP me out though. I can't seem to find a picture of a pair that I owned back when i was a kid, but they are not thesame as in the pic posted by Guerilla Warfare - i believe those are the aero jams. These were black with a spider web like design on them, but can'tremember the name. If you guys know what i'm talking about let me know. In fact post pics of all the LJ's - nice pic guerilla

These are the aero jams, and they were retro'd back in 2003, at one point you could find them easily and cheap, now, good luck, but i know there are orwere a few OG pairs on ebay you should check there.

Can anyone post a pic of the TarMax? I think that is what it is called...he had a white on teal version but the retail version was more of a almond and bluecolorway. Best pair of sneakers I wore while playing outdoors...

I got 2 pairs of KJ Run N Slams and some other random Cons with React Juice as well. Picked em up from an Indoor Swap Meet for $10 a piece

I was a huge LJ fan back in the day but I always felt he was 2-3 inches short to be a power forward and too heavy to be an effective small forward. I had theaero jam 2s in black but the glue went smelly after about 6 weeks so I went back and got the KJ shoe instead.

LJ was mad violent as a rooky I must fish out that dunk comp from back in the day.

I was living in Charlotte for LJ's entire career with the Hornets. Dude was a beast. I loved those Cons but yeah like somebody said, the react juice leakedon some of them. The grandmama campaign was one of the more memorable marketing campaigns for NBA sig shoes. Dude was a straight fool dunking with a wig andglasses and a granny dress. I wish more players in today's game had that kind of energy and enthusiasm on and off the court. LJ was the man.

The retros were crap sneakers, they were so stiff and I think the react juice were made of solid rubber compare to the originals... I love those originalAeroJams & KJs'...
