Approaching 30.. is it too late for school?

When I went for my first college (graduated, in school again) there were some 30, even 40 year olds in my class.

In my program right now I know there are some 40 year olds too

and to answer your question: you're not too old for school. 30 is still "young" especially when you can blend in with the mid-20s crowd which isplentiful in college

yup. I took a night class a couple years ago and everybody was definitely 30+. Good learning environment compared to day classes when everybody's justtrying to look cool

whatever you do, DON'T be that guy that ask all the dumb questions, thinking, because you are older, u can blurt out whatever you want during class and tryto hold a convo during class with the teacher.

its always the older ppl that do that, always feeling like they have to add their two cents in.

if you can yea, go for it!

jk jk, i say do it. you are never too old to get your education. as long as you are alive and can still learn, it can do nothing but help.

Go back to school.

I am in my early 30s and now realize i have to get a master's to make the money
i think i deserve. I should suck it up and live poor for a couple years. I a am afraid to
do that. Man, having a b.a. is like graduating high school in the work force these days.

if you good, just do school part time...
im working.. able to save up some
but i might be taking a trades program soon and would have to quit this job in order to do that
after that.. i dont know if i'll be lucky to find a job that quick that pays the same and continue with applying for school

i dont know if the program im looking into has part time courses.. i think full time programs require you to be there full time

and for those that went back .. what did yall take?
i know a friend thats in finance and he says most of the students are 40+
but thats a whole different industry
im looking into design or a trade

where i live, you have to have your financial aid forms in by march, for either semester, which is annoying
if you think about it...next fall or next spring...

No, it's not too late at all. All you'll do is get older, my dude. If you're asking near-30 if you're too old, you'll be asking near-40 if you're too old.

Sure, you won't be experiencing the party-hard, frat-boy, beer-pong lifestyle that the majority will experience, since they're coming right out of HS... but 4 years from now, you'll have the same degree anyone else in your field will have.
preach on that....I just turned 28 and I am ready to go back......its going to be hard, but it needs to be done, and the best time is now......

go for it man, never too late to accomplish anything as long as u put your mind to it. dont let anyone tell u you're too old.

not to discourage you or anything, but I'm 20 and feel old in college

next sepetember im planning on going back to school to take psychology. ill be 24, not as old as you but its never too late to go back. if your financiallyfine and have enough time and drive to do i say go for it.

It's never too late. My dad dropped out of college the first time around, knocked up his girlfriend (got married), and joined the Navy. He served 6 years, got a divorce, and got a job as a field engineer for the company whose radar he was a specialist on while in the Navy. He worked in Hawaii for 5 years, andwent to Chaminade University at the same time and got his degree in computer science. He was able to fully support my brother and I through college, pay offthe house, etc. It's never too late!

No, it's never too late for education, but unless you know exactly what you want out of it, it'll be tough. So, have a game plan is basically whatI'm saying.

gotcha.. never too late to invest in oneself
game plan is extremely vital

how about money advice?
how can i be 30 still eating ramen noodles and dressing like a high schooler?

The money thing is what got me, well that and not really knowing what to study. I went back to school a year ago. I spent a good amount of cash just to realizethat I wasn't passionate about engineering. If my parents were rich, or If school was free, I would dabble in subjects until I found something I thoroughlyenjoyed. But at some point, its time to stop experimenting and time to make money and do something with this life. That's why I emphasize having a clearcut plan. Decide what you want and don't settle for less.

my point exactly.. im not even 100% sure the program im looking into is exactly what's going to get me from A to B,C,D or E know what I mean?
but I guess it all depends on how you apply yourself afterwards..
although I would think some jobs.. like engineering might get you in a stable position to begin with

Hell nah, if you have any questions hit me up, I'll put you on the right path, everest, nah but on the real I'll point you to what you need for yourfinancial aide.
