Asian Culture Discussion Thread

What's with the emergence of all these plastic Korean and Chinese IG thots? My IG explore is flooded with them.
plastic surgery is cheap here, and somehow a lot of these chicks get "modeling" gigs here.

I got my paypal ready for these broads
lol you sure your money up like that?

She just wants you to put her on the payroll b

Probably  I've found ways around it so far though by not being thirsty at all, and I'm not really stressing about dropping it completely since I'm not really attracted to the fake type. It's more of a novelty "did it just to say I did it" thing for me  I'm kind of seeing a regular Indonesian/Korean girl who I can take out in public without getting weird looks anyway

I mean other than the random anti Korean women rants that salty NTers bring up every once in a while, all the discussion topics are pretty civil and respectful. Most of us here have let go of the ultra-nationalist feelings our ancestors grew up with in Asia that led to everyone looking down on each other. We didn't grow up under any dictators that looked out for us over here, so we have no choice but to support each other  :pimp:

By the way, I've received a bunch of hate messages about being a "self hating half breed" on here from white NTers  My European family/ancestors don't even identify as, look, or act white, which makes it even more ridiculous

I was one of the people who said that. I know I said some other out of pocket stuff too. I sincerely apologize. It was disgusting on my end, I had a little too much to drink that evening and whatever back and forth we had got under my skin, but to say some crap like that drunk or sober was wrong.

It’s one thing to disagree on stuff. But to say some stuff like that, it was uncalled for and you didn’t deserve that. It looked really poorly on me and I felt disgusted I resorted to something that low.

I have nothing to gain or lose from putting this on here, some people will probably look at me sideways, but I’ll hold myself accountable for that one. You’re well within reason to hold a grudge against me, but it’s no ill will on my end.

whats everyone's thought on plastic surgery. I used to be against it (unless someone suffered major physical damage in a fire or something)

but these days if its something small like a double eye lid or nose job then im fine with it. now if they go from being a 1 to a 10 then yea, I cant do that.

but small things like skincare treatment (lasers) or stuff like that I dont see a big deal

I went to a dermatologist in the Philippines and got laser treatment on my face. The dermatologist was a hot, older lady but she rocked armpit hair. Anyway, it hurt getting my face zapped for an hour and my face was full of scabs for 3 days but my skin looked good after. Also it was way more convenient than seeing a dermo here. So much damn paperwork and the one I went to would only perform one procedure a visit. I had 3 skin tags I wanted removed and he said i’d have to come back for another visit for each one. So dumb.

If you’re Asian (specifically Viet or Chinese) and don’t have a gambling or drinking problem...I commend you!

I’m Viet and I don’t really have those problems, but when I drink I drink a lot

I’ve seen way too many people lose $$ gambling, tables, sports betting, in a matter of seconds. Admittedly I spent a lot of money on stuff like games, music, clothes, jewelry but at least I get to keep it lol

I have a really low alcohol tolerance, but I don't really get an Asian glow.
My boyfriend is half Mexican-half Filipino and gets Asian glow like crazy, even from just one drink.

Definitely got the gambling bug. Been flying out to Vegas every other month lately and sports bet online damn near everyday.

Filipino btw.

I had dinner with my mentor yesterday
He's a 52yo finance guy who recently married a 26yo who's in medicine -- they met during an Ironman triathlon
This is a guy I try to take cues from -- the way he carries himself, how everyone respects him, how full of integrity he is, his calmness and confidence
He said some things that really struck an emotional chord with me -- I wasn't expecting this at all (actually almost cried), but here's what I remember:

"I've always admired your story. By your own admission, you grew up poor and clawed your way through life. Imagine how your parents feel looking at you now. Just think about it for 5 seconds. Your parents who escaped to America with nothing? What parent wouldn't be brimming with pride? I'd be blessed to have a son like you, but I'm 52."

"The most dangerous person is the one who can straddle both sides: easily relating to everyday common folks because he cut his teeth among them and playing the game in corporate white America, the old boys' club, the guys who don't know anything about poverty. And yet he never loses his identity, where he came from, what he stands for, and never forgets to give back to the world. He has the hunger, the natural charisma, the compassion, the "f--k you" determination. That's the guy everyone should be careful of. I'm happy that I'm breaking bread with him right now."

I mean no disrespect but whenever I hear a 52 yo Finance guy with a 26yo wife... reminds me of this..
