I don’t remember which part of China it was but about 20 years ago I went on a tour with my dad in China where they produce the most honey. The tour guide said the female workers that work and live around that area likes to be called “Faye Mui Jai” (Chubby girl) instead of “Leng Lui”(Pretty).

I've always found it fascinating like Japanese will continue to say Tadaima (meaning I'm home) even if there's no one in the house. It's almost like announcing to the House spirit that you're home.

what you said is true. It’s equal to the Japanese phrase “itadakimasu” And it’s something you say before you eat. It shows appreciation to the person who made your dish.

Sadly, none of my friends wanted to go/didn’t have the money (which was understandable) so I decided to make it a solo trip. Don’t ever put your dreams on pause for other people. Solo traveling is one of the best things I’ve done.
