Murder of Vincent Chin

Vincent_Chin.jpg

Killed by 2 white dudes in the 80s because they blamed asians for the decline of American automation due to Japanese competition. They beat him to death with a baseball bat on the day of his bachelor party.

the murderers served 3 years of probation...

My trust in cops at an all time low. I've seen them do too many effed up things on video the last two days. Am surprised that police brutality thread has not blown up.

*edit

Just ONE question about this video guys. How did this dude get his rice like that? I don't think I've ever had home cooked white rice like that. How do I do it?

Please don't tell me to buy a 2000 dollar rice cooker

Chin's case has been cited by some Asian Americans to support the idea that they are seen as not fully citizens or "perpetual foreigners" compared to "real" Americans.[9][16][32] Lily Chin stated: "What kind of law is this? What kind of justice? This happened because my son is Chinese. If two Chinese killed a white person, they must go to jail, maybe for their whole lives... Something is wrong with this country."[33]

38 years later, this hasn't changed at all :{

1:1 ratio for white rice, 2:1 ratio for brown rice.

Or am I doing it wrong? :wow:

No...that's almost congee or jook (rice porridge)...just use that small plastic cup any rice cooker has..
It's like 1 cup rice to 1/2 water??? Online everywhere

Or...just buy a $600 Cuc koo
*$175 ones are just fine too

Stop posting those freaks man.

Who cares if they're not related.

The reasons for posting that news are very important and legitimate. Think about how the idea even began to gain traction. Because some dumbf random facebook account found and posted fake news that put another person in potential danger. Just because she happened to be Asian. Why was this even an effing thing to bait people with.

We all know not to jump into that stupid immediate reaction.
We all know Asians are not single monolithic bloc of people.
We all know. Period.
Unfortunately non Asians still don’t think.

Never wrong to confront false narratives.

A random post on Facebook claims that the wife of arrested cop is sister to cop’s partner.
Based on the fact both share same Hmong ancestry and what? Ok that’s effing brilliant.
Didn’t realize now we all look alike and are all related.
What does this even have to do with horrible death of victim George Floyd?
So people like Tanner can feed their idiotic hate on Asian people.
Let not play that game.

People saw 2 Asians so they prob just made a stupid racist assumptions that they must be related.

I didn’t mean to post that to diminish the importance of what’s going on with the protest. That’s obviously the bigger and more important issue. But I’m not going to let racist/stereotypes ish against Asians slide either.

Wasn't even coming from that angle or coming at you. Just tired of seeing those faces.

Them being Asian was a part but the main thing behind the theory started cause her birth last name was also Thao.

I'm guessing Thao is a common Hmong last name like Vietnamese with Nguyen or Koreans with Lee or Kim.
