My mom asked me if I heard about George Floyd case cause she just saw it on the Korean news.

I said yea and this was the convo In Korean:

me: who do you think was at fault? George Floyd or the cops

her: obviously the cops who had their knee on his head

Me: why do you think asians have a negative view of black people?

her: because growing up in the 80s and 90s in the states, there were a lot of crimes by black people on Asians and Asian businesses.

me: you know black people are humans just like us

her: obviously.the only thing different is our skin color. Besides that we’re all the same.

Then the convo moved to another topic.

That's how my parents feels too. They came into the US in the late 80s. They didn't watch tv or see American movies. Their prejudice at the time were from seeing and hearing about the LA Riots and Blacks vs Asian crimes going on in New York City.
They've lived in the US for over 30 years now. Their views have definitely changed as they interacted with the Black community on a daily basis.
But keep in mind, my parents are fairly well educated people.
I'm sure there are tons of Chinese in NY Chinatown who either hate or are scared of black people.

Sometimes it's as simple as a fear of the unknown. The "Them" vs "Us" mentality.
But as people come to understand each other, they see that they both are looking for equal treatment in AmeriKKKa.

My Parents are baby boomers here since late 70s.
First East Coast then Midwest.
Similar thoughts and values.
Right is right. Wrong is wrong.
And if you continue the conversation, bet you’ll hear and learn about their interactions with regular white people too.
There’s good and bad across the board.

Thats why I hate seeing Black vs Asian , and also Asian vs Black violence. We both know the white man look at both of us as dog poo trying to climb up that ever growing social ladder.
So why do the work for them.

Disclaimer, definitely not saying all white people are racist.

She must not have known she had diabetes. If she was on the correct regimen of metformin and insulin, with the right frequency of accuchecks, two bubble tea a day wouldn't have done that to her lol

she has got to have some underlining emotional isssues. 2 boba tea a day? Im usually done for a month after one.

Her blood sugar was 25x normal = 2500 mg/dL :wow: :wow:

if she wasn’t diabetic before she destroyed her kidneys quick
