Asian Culture Discussion Thread

Sorry. I’m not alluding to the video content but just more so the idea of weapon choice. I’ve seen it discussed in many cases. I wanted to get your perspective on it bc of the quote I replied to.

Yeah I mean to me random falls in line with the other crimes we’ve seen in the last few months perpetrated against Asians. The majority of which are out on the streets and beyond targeting Asians seem to be otherwise indiscriminate (that isn’t to say that none have occurred in people’s homes).

This one appeared to be a little different.

More so bc of the weapon correct? I agree

but how do you connect it to be a personal attack due to weapon choice? I can see where you’re coming from. If dude used a rock or bottle we can say random.

More so let’s say it is a personal attack, can we still classify it has hate crime too?

🤦‍♂️

Thank goodness these victims are alive.

NYC subway violence unreal.
Jackhole mayor is useless.
Affects everyone there.

As if the Pacific Northwest isn’t already dealing with lawlessness, this attack is exceptionally vicious. The hell her dude didn’t fight back more.

Followup:

-Seattle attack. This flipping moron been a case from coast to coast. Caught.

I’m just speculating like everyone else.

To me the weapon is just one component. Unless I’m missing something here, that’s the first instance of a machete being used. Where I’m from, people don’t just have machetes laying around for casual usage. They also aren’t found at all laying in the streets.

Why ignore the context that the video provides? I highlighted the machete because that stands out but that’s not all. boywonder boywonder

JPS JPS Hate crimes can be personal as well. At no point did I suggest that a hate crime should be ruled out. It can be personal and a hate crime, unless there’s something you know that I don’t?

I'm not ignoring the context of the video at all. If you would have said something like "the way they seemed to know their way around the property" or "the way they appeared to have an argument before attacking the victim", I think that would have definitely been inline with the crime being personal.

However, your argument simply states Machete -> Personal vendetta. A gun is used often times in a lot of other random crimes and isn't something that is laying around or found often times on a random street. So going back to the question JPS asked, what is it about Machete as THE WEAPON that indicates automatically that this was a personal conflict between the two parties?

Oh ok so you were looking too deep into my observation as I suspected.

Also- what argument? I wasn’t making an argument as much as I was simply answering the question posed by JPS. If you guys don’t think it was personal that’s totally fine with me, especially if it makes you feel better.

That’s just what it appeared to be to me. It may not have been personal. Is that better??

Now that we’ve established you weren’t genuinely questioning and just taking the opportunity to be combative I think we can lay this to rest 😊

Not your Coolie.

Brainwashed or just watching their own back

Happens quite a lot not only in Australia but also United States. You’ll also see Colleges and Universities siding against lawful peaceful protestors. Look up the news. And there is major organizational push by Party Government.

Concept of Free Speech being forgotten and canceled in “higher learning”.
Sad but True.
