I got so many Polaroid photos of Hot Import Nights, Hot Import Daze, and later SEMA. I even participated in a Dodgeball game against some adults when that was hot for a little while. That kinda went down the tank once the import models started charging for autographed photos instead of taking pictures with us. Can't blame them, but I was in middle-school so I could only afford the entrance fee and a No Fear energy drink.

Did you go to college in San Jose?

I was born in the city but my family moved to San Jose when I was 13.

My 8th grade year book had maybe 3-4 pages straight of Nguyens and I swear half of the guys’ names were Kevin.

That picture is how every Asian dude in San Jose dresses , so combine that with the Kevin Nguyen common name, and you get where the meme comes from

Funny thing is whenever my girl and I visit my family back in the Bay, she always mentions “I can tell you’re from here, you have the same black t shirt , gold chain, fade, and Japanese sleeve tattoo combo as every guy here”

It’s true though, out here in Chicago, my sleeve tattoo is pretty unique, and I constantly get random people commenting on it or asking me questions. Back home it’s just like the East San Jose uniform for Asians
Same story with me being from the city than moving to the eastbay when I was ten, except every other Asian over here is either Christian or Christopher(Chris). Some people used to say that I even look more like a "Chris" than a "Tim".

Asian with a white name ?
200w (1).gif

Also, every other filipino girl that I knew went by "Jen".

I liked Francine Dee for obvious reasons.

Any of them looked good to great besides Tila Tequila if you even want to include her. Don't even get me started on Sasha Singleton, she shunned adults and kids alike like she was royalty.:smh:

Would like to see an ABG Jennifer Nguyen meme. It's universal in north america.

Funny thing is, when I went to Ho Chi minh a few years ago, that's their style too - logo entry level shirt like armani exchange, track pants, and blonde streaks/bangs, chain, and sleeve tats for some. Literally modern day viet uniform.

Ed Hardy and Christian Audigier owe the Vietnamese for surviving as long as they did.

Man gets Jollibee tomb in memory of his love for Chicken Joy

  • The Relleve family commissioned two local artists in the Philippines to paint their late father’s tomb with the logo and mascot of Jollibee, his favorite fast-food chain, in preparation for All Saints' Day.
  • According to the man’s daughter, Angelle Roa Relleve, loved Jollibee and would cook his version of the fast-food chain’s popular “Chicken Joy” at home in the ‘90s because their province did not have a Jollibee branch at the time.
  • "Upon opening the first branch of the food chain Jollibee in the mid-90s in Legazpi City near the St. Gregory Cathedral, we were overjoyed as we experienced and tasted Chicken Joy for the first time with the family,” Angelle shared. “When my brother and sister, who were living and working in Manila, came back home, Papa always asked them to treat us at Jollibee."
A family in the Philippines honored their late patriarch this year by painting his tomb with the colors, logo and mascot of his favorite fast-food chain, Jollibee.
