I use Satan as a symbol for defiance of God and his followers and indulgence in the pleasures of life. This is a very simple concept but people still don't get it.

Anton LaVey should have chosen a different word than Satan
Dudes in here STILL thinking he created a Christian-created form of evil (Satan) worshiping cult, when he uses it as a metaphor. A bad metaphorconsidering the ramafications of that word, but a metaphor nonetheless. LaVey should have made up a word and stuck it to atheism instead of using the termSatanism. Like 'LaVeyan Atheism.'

Sorry I apologize for this......I said earlier I am respectful of all religions and my post as of late haven't reflected it. Isaid earlier i have nothing against the christian religion but I have a problem with many religious men.....especially those in positions of power. I also havea problem with the inherent scapegoatism associated with the judeochristian faith. It takes accountability away from the individual and places it on phantoms.Lastly, I find hypocritical behavior in the christian faith most deplorable. PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH. Christianity/Islam/Judaism are religions based on lovebut actions don't reflect this. I was born a catholic.....I could murder a billion people and confess and ask for forgiveness on my death bed and stillmake it to heaven. WHAT PART OF THE GAME IS THIS?
BDW I'll say it again I'm not tryna make anyone convert!!!! this is not a religion as much as it is a philosophy.

I agree with the sense that nobody knows what he believes more than him...
But you do have to cite the irony in an atheist following a moral code...Hence where my hangup comes in....
