The new assassin is called Edward Kenway. He's Haytham's father and Connor's grandfather.

To be released on all systems this gen and next gen.

Hopefully this game is less crap than AC3 was.

These games would be great if they didn't suck so bad.

Tedious doesn't even begin to describe them.

AC2 was the only fun game, and Ezio and his storyline kinda carried Brotherhood and Revelations. 1 and 3 were TRASH

Played AC3 the first 45 mins of it and I had to turn it off. There's 50,00000 cut scenes that just constantly kill the momentum of the game, ruins the excellent gameplay. my friend said all the other AC's are like that too. smh.

I have such a love-hate relationship with this series.

The first one was more of a concept idea that they floated out there. They had all the elements, but they didn't quite know how to piece them together.

The second one improved on everything from the first and introduced one of the greatest lead characters ever. Then with Brotherhood, they pretty much perfected everything from mechanics to graphics and made the best game in the series.

After that, they completely crapped the bed with Revelations and the less said about 3 the better.

My main gripe with these games and particularly the last one is that they cram too much crap in to try and populate the world. There is just way too much filler and all of the collection challenges/sidequests seem tacked on and don't really advance gameplay in a positive way. I really hope with this one, they go back to a leaner experience and cut out all the filler garbage. 3 felt like a chore to play after awhile and I hated myself for even finishing it, cos the story was terrible.

I'm really not looking forward to more Naval battles though, that was the worst part of AC3 for me :x :{

So damn annoying.

And yea those sidequests are horrible. I actually didn't do ANY of them and didn't upgrade any weapons and still got through the game without any trouble.

Just reading/hearing about them pissed me off. Ben Franklin telling me to search for the pages to his dictionary or w/e :x I'm good

Should have progressed to having you play at Nat Turner.

Assassin's Creed 4: Django Unchained

For real though, they could've touched on the slavery side of things a little more. Don't think they would risk the backlash though.

I know that AC3:Liberation touched on it a fair bit, but the Vita and that game are both trash

I'm in. I'm hooked on the series.

I wonder whom this "desmond" is going to be now.

Also, if Haythem's father was an assassin...What role did he play in Haythem choosing his side?

AC3 had its frustrating moments and I wasn't too fond of the ending. I also had a tough time getting into "Connor's" story.

In terms of game engine and gameplay, Is brotherhood as good as AC3? I was playing ACR today and I just can't play it anymore after playing AC3. Running around is much funner in AC3 than in ACR.

Lastly, does ACB use the same game engine as ACR?

Damn. I've played every single one and loved them all. Am I the only one? :lol

ACR followed ACB and all of the Ezio trilogy ran on the same engine.

Each to their own, but AC3 is trash compared to those games.

People didn't like AC3? It's by far the favorite out of the series for me, but I am probably bias because the time period it's set in is something that really interests me.

Thanks for the info. I watched some ign video that broke down the AC storyline because I didn't think that it would be worth it to play all those games for the storyline.
AC3 has the best engine of the series so I don't see how you can label it as trash.

Didnt even finish Revelations or buy 3. I cant deal with Assassins Creed anymore its just so repetitive, which can be said about most games but they come out way too fast so you dont even feel like you missed a step. Why do I need an hour long tutorial for the game that is just like the game I played 5 months ago?

I mean Assassin's Creed 3 was beautiful to look at and play in all, but it is the same thing every time...

The multiplayer was good also.. but that also gets boring.

Engine doesn't mean a thing when your gameplay is stale, your story is terrible, your setting is lackluster, your characters make you want to slit your throat and your sidequests/filler are unnecessary.

My apologies if people actually enjoyed AC3, but to me that game was a steaming pile of dog doo.
