Atlantic city 3 casinos closing his year

Yep I been following. Atl City been hurtin for a minute. 5k jobs will be lost.

Place has been a dump for years as far as I'm concerned. I'm all aboard for the Meadowlands casinos though :smokin

I just stayed at Trump last June. It was my first time in AC and I felt it was such a letdown. We went to a show in revels nightclub and with the exception of the nightclub I felt the whole city was just crap

the revel Beach club and HQ was the only thing they had going for them

That Revel place looked cool. Did anybody go?

Stayed there a couple times, and it's an amazing hotel. It's pretty sad to see it closing, after going into bankruptcy for the second time. IMO, it is just way too massive, and I never thought it would be incredibly successful. The downfall of AC is depressing, but it's not really shocking. It's a horrible neighborhood and area, and in the winter time, there is nobody there for the city to make money during that time. I'll also give some blame to our ****hole governor, who was unable to make any positive impact there, despite all the blown money and propaganda.

Up until about 4 years ago my buddies and I would go up every other weekend. There was a bus that would take us up for $30 and give you back a $20 voucher. Earlier this year we had my bachelor party there, rented the top floor of Caesars, lost some money, and hit up the byob gentlemen's spot across the street. A lot of good times were had, reason they are closing is because casinos are popping up everywhere within a 1.5 vicinity (Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and Philadelphia).

Revel was nice. Very nice rooms. They just tried to do too much.

Nothing in AC needs to be that fly.

I stayed at The Borgota last month. Pretty nice spot as well but the rooms weren't anywhere near as nice.

Which is probably why they're still in existence so far.

That city is already rough outside of the nice hotels + casinos. So all those jobs lost.....****'s about to be real crazy there.

why is atl city taking a hit?

Because neighboring states have opened casinos. The only reason to go to AC is to gamble, and now there's no real incentive. At least in Vegas there's plenty of other stuff going on that isn't gambling. Also, the AC gambling crowd is much older and doesn't attract a younger clientele like a Ls Vegas. When old people stop going, they don't get replaced.

Its a shame Revel closed although not surprising at all. Absolutely beautiful place. Just way too ambitious for a run down city like AC. It would THRIVE in Vegas.

I remember it was amazing the amount of crap neighborhoods right across the street from these casinos

Yeah, I was there last summer, **** is downright creepy. I mean i've been in the hood and whatnot, but to have millions (billions?) of dollars being exchanged in these casinos and literally accross the street there's projects, crack houses, etc. Crazy.

Def. not someplace I wanna go back to.

When they finish building the MGM in national harbor/DC that's gonna be a big hit on AC.

What's wrong with NJ? Well, besides our ridiculous taxes, congestion, and governor. There really aren't too many other places I'd rather be. Beach is 35 mins away. NYC is 35 mins away. Philly is a little over an hour away. Best pizza in the country. Decent public transportation system. Malls and stores everywhere.
