Atlantic city 3 casinos closing his year

What's wrong with NJ? Well, besides our ridiculous taxes, congestion, and governor. There really aren't too many other places I'd rather be. Beach is 35 mins away. NYC is 35 mins away. Philly is a little over an hour away. Best pizza in the country. Decent public transportation system. Malls and stores everywhere.

Can't even fill your own gas tank. Total deal breaker.

Man I was just there last month...had a great time and it was pretty live. Thots all around and they were freaking down for whatever. It kinda helped that we had the oceanview suite at the Revel...shame the place just closed a couple days ago though

AC is a dump. I got bed bugs at Trump when I went a few years back. Was there for my boy's bachelor party and it was one of the filthiest hotels that I've been in. On top of it all, getting solicited for sex by prostitutes minutes after walking in ain't what's up.

Anyways, now that other states are getting licensed to have table games, like Maryland, there's going to be less of a reason for people to make the drive up for a quick gambling trip. You have MD Live which is now open, and MGM is opening a casino within the next couple of years in a spot that's less than 5 minutes out of DC.

I did like Revel...probably one of the nicest hotels that I've been to, but it was too extravagant for AC and didn't cater to their target demographic. Awesome spot for a bachelor/bachelorette's party, but that's about it. Small area for gambling (w/ a DJ spinning) and there is no smoking. I'm not a huge gambler, nor do I smoke...but if those are some of the things you can expect at a place like Revel, then how can you reasonably think that your place will thrive? The day-tripper is the person who helps make a place like AC go. They want to come in on their busses early in the morning, gamble, and then leave. Revel has ZERO appeal to that type of person. When staying in my room there, looking out, it was nothing but desolate in the aftermath of Sandy. You could see the writing on the wall for that casino. It was too opulent and grandiose for the area.

First the 40/40 club and now this ...

Wonder what's going to happen with that property.

So Jersey pizza is the best in the country because it's made by New Yorkers?

Understood.

No...but NY is known for having the best pizza in the country, and I'm saying there are tons of transplants that know how to make it that have restaurants here. The pizza in NJ is practically the same stuff you'll find in NYC.

So, where do you think the best pizza in the USA is?

You just said NY is known for having the best pizza in the country (debateable. Chicago is just as good, just different.) a few posts after you said Jersey.

#1, there is no best.

#2, if NY transplants are what make NJ pizza "the best in the country", "practically the same stuff you'll find in NYC", then.......

Put it together.

NY pizza is infinitely better than most other states' pizza. On most occasions, a ****** pizza place in NY is better than a good pizza place in Vegas. Just the way things are.

Chicago pizza is amazing and I would fly there this instant for some, but I don't consider that REAL pizza...if that makes any sense. It's ******* amazing, but you kinda have to eat it with a fork and a knife. When you think of pizza, traditionally you think of the thin crust regular pies. Not a 4 inch thick wide crust. Not taking anything away from Chicago pizza at all, but it's definitely different.

And I was being bias when I said NJ had the best. NYC does, but NJ has essentially the same pizza, so thats why I said that.

I think demise of AC was the casinos themselves. Back in the day it was a prestigious summer resort, it's on the other far end I the spectrum now, filled with low lives, and degenerates, only place I felt comfortable was the borgata

You go to any casino you have degenerates, etc.

The demise of AC is due to Sandy, other states getting gaming licenses, and over doing it as far as casino plans (Revel). The casinos that have good management in AC will stick around. Simple as that.

AC is a dump; why would anyone want to spend $400 a night to be stuck inside a casino?

the minute PA legalized casinos it was a wrap for AC

It is kind of crazy that when we are our parent's age that AC is just gonna be a memory
