For one, TDI technology, there's also FSI technology as well. Off-note, Audi's quattro is unrivaled, but yes, BMW is the better driver's car.

i was in the market for a s5 around christmas, because the end of the year deals were sooo good. but at the audi dealer they had a gt for $69k and i decided towait and see if prices would drop more, now spurs are 70k. i love depreciation.

So... Audi attempts a response to the "Checkmate" ad BMW had. I really don't know what the hell Audi means by it though.

?

No response from BMW yet...

The billboard war taking place between Audi and BMW in Southern California has taken yet another turn today. After Audi called out its cross-country rival by saying "Your Move, BMW" on a billboard overlooking Santa Monica Blvd. advertising the new A4, BMW responded by renting its own billboard across the street that simply showed the M3 and "Checkmate." Audi then had some fun collecting photoshopped billboard responses from fans on its Facebook page before revealing its own retort. The new billboard, which reportedly went up today, shows the R8 supercar next to this proclamation: "Time to check your luxury badge. It may have expired."

Huh?

While the R8 is a great weapon with which to defend yourself against an M3 attack, the battle cry beside it makes no sense to us whatsoever. If this were a Yo Mama competition, BMW would be chest bumping Wilmer Valderrama right now and Audi would be crawling back into its hoopty for the long ride home.

BMW did actually have a response for Audi. At some point the brand removed its M3 advertisement from across the street and didn't replace it. Audi is now battling with an ad for Barney's CO-OP... and losing.

That R8 ad doesn't make sense to me if they're targeting BMW on the Checkmate rebuttal. . It only makes sense if they were targeting the Japanesebrands since they have their regular brand and a regular brand (eg: Toyota/Lexus, Nissan/Infiniti, Honda/Acura...)

audi's design and styling is very nice

bmw's performance is far superior

but BMW has the whole package - styling + performance

i wouldnt be surpised if they were both in on it,, some sort of car beef to get attention to both companies n distract attention from benz , lexus and otherluxury car brands,, marketing scheme politicians do this too during debates

And the winner is all of this........... CBS Ad Revenue department

Those signs aren't cheap depending on location.... low 6 figures.

you're right in that it doesnt rebut the M3-checkmate ad, but thats cause they cant, they dont have any cars in that class that can beat it, no one does

as for the R8, it sort of makes sense to me in the sense that audi is saying that they have a car that borderlines luxury-car/super-car and bmw doesnt (atleast not to my knowledge) - audi is pretty much starting a new fight cause they cant beat that m3 ad

Benz aren't even thread worthy. Apart from the S classes, Benz' are trash.
