My boy is moving to Chicago, any tips on where (neighborhood) to live? He's looking for young professional vibe- a neighborhood with other 25-35 young successful folks.
I can mostly think of areas downtown. River North, The Loop, and West Loop have young professional vibes. Kinda pricey though. I'd say Gold Coast too but it seems like it'd get old living there. & Lincoln Park have a mix of young professional and college students (LP has a lot of families too). Logan Square and Wicker Park too. They both have kind of a hipster vibe if your friend is into that.

Said this in the TAN but i am DONE getting gadgets and such for at least a year.

How's that speaker? I just looked it up and saw it's on sale for $180 from $450. Almost disappointed I just copped the UE Boom 3 after my OG died.

Here’s my current spot, but I’m moving in a couple of months!
I like your spot a lot, definitely going to use it for inspiration. I have the cookie monster Kaws too but don't know how to collect more stuff like that while keeping a more sophisticated/mature kind of vibe.

@blackintellect Where will your friend be working? I think West Loop would be a great option. With West Loop becoming Chicago’s tech hub, there are plenty young successful professionals there. Google opening there drove up the real estate a bit but it’s a great area with plenty of restaurants and bars. Very lively nightlife just on the outskirts of downtown.

Other good options are River West, Old Town, and of course River North, as mentioned above. Lincoln Park is great but I feel like it’s either young married couples with kids or college students. No in between.

I live in South Loop and love it. I’m right at the northernmost point, so right near the loop. I’m close to downtown action but it still feels like a chill neighborhood. Ton of new residential buildings going up too.

I wouldn’t last a month living in Bucktown or Wicker Park. I used to hang out there all the time but it gets old fast, unless that’s truly your scene.

My buddy lives in West Loop. He loves it there. Lot of new restaurants and what not popping up. That said, he has a kid and the schools are good there... so that may be different than what you're looking for.

Started a weekend paint the unfinished garages walls project, and a little ways through I’m wondering if that blue/grey is too dark lol. What you guys think?

NTers who do/did the high rise thing or even just the 5th floor on a multistory, is/was the living space unbearably hot if it's ever more than 50 degrees out?

lamont614 lamont614 great yellow in living room really lifts up the mood and energy in there

For my projector folks, im looking to paint my living room wall rather then build a screen, i was gonna match the color in my living room (behr double click) but wasnt sure if there was another option io should go with.

My walls are egg shell also, wasnt sure if matte would look better or worse

^ neighbors garage is a perfect backdrop for summer movie viewing. Thinking of having a few play dates for my son and have the kids watch outside so the grown ups can chill as well
