Bachelor Pad.

Ordered this on 2/21.  Will be here within a few weeks.

My wife and I separated, so this is my "bachelor" pad. It is cozy. I tried to keep it simple and "minimalistic" if you will.
The ceilings are really high. I think they are about 12 feet. 

Eating area. The table is from kmart. I like it. 

I wanted a chase lounge instead of a love seat, and I really like it. The couch folds out into a bed for when my kids sleep over. The TV is a 40 inch Samsung 6 series. It looks small in the pictures, but it looks fine when you are sitting and and watching it. 

Bed and furniture is all IKEA except for the bench. It works for me. I wanted to keep a tv out of the room. 

I tried to color co-ordinate the bathroom. It came out alright. 

I want to replace the plants and get some more greenery overall. Any recommendations???

Classy - Nice looking place.  A little paint on the walls, and it will look real nice.  Looks like you may have a pretty good view?


I'm also looking to get some greenery in my place once spring comes.  I'm going to have my mom come down and help me pick some things out.  Need to make sure they're cat friendly.

Curious to know where that home is located...

I'm going to go ahead and complain a little about the pool... its ridiculously nice, but seems to be olympic sized. If I had an olympic in my backyard I would certainly want to use it to get in some laps. With the sloped sides and shallow-ing there wouldn't be a good way to turn. I'm sure that's not much of an issue for whoever owns the home though...

I agree. #%*@ is mad flashy and really nice architecturally speaking... But it's almost as if it's all for show. It doesn't seem like a home so to speak.

You see all these celebrities with these gaudy as mansions (Fat Joe, I see you) and it's like dude what are you living in? A museum of #%*@ you think looks nice but really doesn't reflect your true style or personality.

They just seem like impersonal residences that people wouldn't feel that comfortable (spiritually/feelings-wise or whatever) living in.

Picked up a few things this past week.   Moving in about 2 weeks, I think its supposed to be done closing on the 6th. Still have to paint and put down some carpet once I get in.

Can anyone point me to a Counter or Bar height dining table for 4 thats either Black or dark brown. The ones I'm finding are either OD expensive or really low quality.

The same can go for people posting pictures of their bedrooms at their parents house. That's no bachelor pad when you're still living at home, not that there's anything wrong with it. On the other hand, I can see how posting those luxury or contemporary homes can give inspiration or ideas on how to furnish one's place.
