I know its been discussed, but what is the consensus on mounting a TV above the fireplace? Moving into a smaller crib and im trying to maximize as much space as i can.

I'm all for avoiding it if at all possible. Sometimes it's really the only reasonable place though...just make sure you have one of the mounts where you can angle the TV downwards so it's easier to view. My aunt and uncle used to have their TV above the fireplace on the stock TV stand, had to stand to be able to clearly see Cowboys games on Thanksgiving.

Appreciate the responses fellas. Guess im in the marker for a sleek stand.
Mounted brackets aren't that expensive on Amazon. Definitely don't buy at Best Buy, you'll pay twice as much. With a strong enough mount you should have zero worry about it holding up as long as you mount it properly!

Had to find a replacement for our coffee table as it wasn’t childproof. I found an old cafe table at a Salvation Army. Chopped it down, added a shelf area then stripped and repainted it.

I mounted ours above the fireplace with a full motion mount so it can angle down and we can pull it out and turn it toward the kitchen area if needed. We bought our first house about a month ago I am going to start posting in here more. Since it’s the bachelor pad thread I’ll try to focus on my man cave mostly lol
