I have a friend exactly like this and he goes out of his way to find flaws with himself.

I've always been funny and outgoing, good looking. i just never thought i could get certain females that I've known/
seen around. Then I started small talk and started gaining confidence. I didnt know how to carry myself. From One (at one point)

Sometimes, in rare situations like this, you have to abandon any reservations you have about how you think people will view you/react and just act on impulse.
