big sean featuring kendrick lamar and jay electronica "no i.d" freestyle

well K. Dot did murder Drake on his own ish.

And whoever said Kendrick doesn't run Compton

He's not a thug, gang banger, none of that, but I guarantee you every blood, ese and crip in Compton rides with him.

When NBA players have an individual "game within the game", we love it and understand it. You hit a three on me? Oh word? Ok, I'm about to go dunk on you and your mans in YOUR GYM.

Competition amongst peers. As competitors and the best in the world at what we do, that's what we do when we WORKING.  Off the court, it's all love.

That's exactly how I looked at this verse. People so damn reactionary these days. First it was Beyonce's haircut (aka weave removal) and now this. I mean damn, is music THIS boring and uneventful that it took another rapper's name being mentioned in a popular artist's song to get people all amped?

And what makes it even more sad and embarrassing is the fact that this is what put the battery in rappers backs. Perfect example of how lazy rap has become. Dudes just putting out minimum wage bars and getting rich because the listeners allow it.

Been waiting on a moment like this, to spur legitimate competition for the new school throne.

edit - damn shame Lupe's mind isn't where it was during the F 1/15 years :{

So I'm not the only one who noticed that's what she did, instead of her "cutting her hair" :lol

Agree with all the rest of that as well. Rappers for awhile now have gotten so complacent and friendly, that they forgot competition is part of music, especially in rap/hip hop. It also doesn't help that it seems like every rapper is on the same label or same management. What is it, Cash Money Young Money Universal Atlantic Maybach Grand Hustle Music?

I ask this question to the true hip hop historians on NT...When was the last time one rapper called out so many people in one song?
50 Cent--How to Rob.  Although in comparison I think "How to Rob" was moreso for marketing purposes for 50 so to speak.  When 50 dropped that, he put a target on some dudes back in a way, and definitely put a target on his back.

I CAN'T wait for someone to respond, and I really hope people do. This is something that I've been wanting to see, someone to finally trigger these lazy bums to start trying!

dont forget about the pinoys and koreans in k-town.

pretty much all of LA will vouch for him

Dudes still fronting like Drake can't snap when he wants to
I think your using the word "snap" a little too loosely champ.  With Drake, we're talking about a guy that went on stage and sang a Destinys' Child song.   As a so called rapper Drake should never be taken seriously.
If I'm not mistaken, the dude in your sig compared Drake to Kobe Bryant in regards to his competition.

Styles P & Joe Budden Beef, In Response To Kendrick Lamar's "Control" Verse

Styles P appears to threaten lyrical and physical harm on Joe Budden, says he's in the streets while Joe Budden is on the Internet.

Longtime eOne Entertainment label-mates became foes just minutes ago, as Joe Budden and Styles P engaged in a tiff on Twitter. The members of Slaughterhouse and The L.O.X./D-Block respectively have collaborated on 2011's "Put Some Money On It Remix," from the 'House's 2011 self-titled EP. However, today Budden warned Styles not to "play with" him, on Twitter.

The incident happened this afternoon after Styles P tweeted that Kendrick Lamar had received no challengers by noon today (August 13) following his "Control (HOF)" verse claiming he, an emcee from Compton, California, is the current "King of New York."

Budden responded to his collaborator, claiming that Styles P is among those who perhaps should have.

This response prompted Styles to claim he's never considered any artist a king of the city, besides one of his early Bad Boy Records label-mates and collaborators, The Notorious B.I.G. He also urged Budden not to "play with" him, warning to "**** **** up lyrically and physically."

Then, Budden urged Styles to call him, waving off a perceived threat from the onetime Ruff Ryders/Interscope Records hit-maker.

Styles responded "Cool" to Budden's reply, then questioned the pair's relationship:

Afterwards, Styles stated that "I ain't beefin' with nobody; I'm chillin." He then said that while he is a street dude, Joe Budden lives on the Internet. He also said that he remains open to a physical altercation, provided police are not involved. Then Styles tweeted the location of one of his juice bars, where he is currently headed.

Budden has not directly responded to Styles at the time of press.

While Joe Budden has been frequently associated with disputes in his career ranging from Jay Z and Game, to Wu-Tang Clan and most recently, Consequence, Styles P has historically maintained a more passive profile. Styles' bandmate Jadakiss did however launch The L.O.X. and D-Block into a beef with Beanie Sigel's State Property over a decade ago.

Earlier this year, both artists released solo albums, in Styles P's Float, and Joe Budden's No Love Lost, both of which debuted on the Top 200.

damn, Kendrick knows what he's doing :lol :{

When's the last time something stirred up this level of reactions from across the board? It's crazy.

No idea why he'd do something like this as a guest spot on BIG SEAN's album though. Would've been an unreal intro to an album.

Lupe though... :lol at least this got him talking about the state of hip-hop on his Twitter, not all the other defensive junk he's been on

The real diss is to the rappers he didn't mention. Kendrick did em dirty.

the bigger news here is what in the hell was up with Jay Electronica?

was he drunk? was this a verse he spit 15 years ago and somebody found it at a garage sale?

thought it would be a cold day in hell when Jay Electronica got out rhymed by Smedium Sean... smh

Y'all gotta chill talking bout my baby moms Beyonce, she did cut her hair :lol anybody who mess with chicks with weave know you need more hair than that for a weave

Back on track, patiently waiting for that Budden verse

I didn't agree with Jay when he said that statement then, and for certain not now.  Even just looking at that statement as if, I take it to mean that Drake is who is "hot" right now.

Also, if that article about Styles P is true, Budden might want to get a new ice pack ready.

Kendrick just told every rapper to step their game up. I love it!

I'm glad people are FINALLY realizing that this "New Era" belongs to Kendrick.
