Black Culture Discussion Thread

The idea that basketball players or any black athlete don’t want black women cuz they don’t rock their natural hair is silly and a lie :lol

Where did I imply this? I specifically said some of these women hate interracial relationships… yet they’ll walk around with STRAIGHT weaves or blonde hair… the same traits they’re critical of, they’re literally adopting. It’s a hypocritical stance

I mentioned hair and presentation (I personally hate having to even use those terms) but baby girl is in bed, looking crazy, inviting people into her personal space, criticizing dude who’s been married to that white woman for years. Acting like a follower and no independent thinker for real

You responded to a video of a girl having a problem with Brunson having a white woman and made it about black women who wear bonnets :lol The first thing you did was speak on that in regards to an athlete wanting her

Just comes off like you specifically have a problem with black women who wear bonnets, don’t have their hair natural.

You venting or something? Cuz the vid didn’t need all those paragraphs man

"Pre-written responses."

He has one for any/every topic. I promise you.

I don’t understand why he had the blade on him at a track meet. That’s the primary reason why he got the 35

Anyone who thought Texas was going to go light on him is CRAZY

Society is coddling and enabling these emotionally unstable boys. I just wish dudes would learn to take a butt whooping, pick themselves up, and go about their business. Man, most of us were worried about sports, girls, making money, dressing fresh, making the school honor roll, etc. murder and violence was far from our mindset

His case will probably get appealed and dropped from 35 years to a lower number but damn man.
Should’ve just shot him the fair one. Lost or won in stride, and kept it moving

I didn't know the owner of palantir was mixed..his mom is black
Yeah the CEO and co-founder along with Peter Thiel. Looks like he goes out of his way to hide any blackness.

I don't know why people ignore proximity in these conversations. Brunson grew up well off and likely lived in neighborhoods and went to schools where black folks were the minority unfortunately.

I understand where you coming from, but this is america murder and violence is at the forefront of many people's mindset even the ones who preach nonviolence.

Young brother clearly didn't leave the house that day wanting to kill somebody

Sure, I agree with that but if someone pushes you and you stab them I'm not sure I can say that's a justified reason. I read that "premeditation" can happen within seconds of the act taking place, it doesn't mean the person had to wake up with a plan in mind.

It's hard to justify this being done in self-defense is all I'm saying.

No, that doesn't mean I think the judicial system has historically been fair to anyone, let alone blacks.

Re: Karmelo Anthony

They invited a (black) defense attorney from Texas to speak on the issue.

It's a good conversation. Van put a lot of things in perspective for her but as he said that's why you gotta have a diverse jury.

But yea, it was a good convo.

They also said this is why it's important to stop ducking jury duty because we get outraged after the verdict but avoid the opportunity to be part of the change.

57:00 mark

Again, if anyone wants to hear the logic/reasoning why decisions were made in this case I would recommend listening to this.

WAY more to it than a push

There have been a number of second hand accounts but evidence provided by the defense never showed any of that.

Also, we have to keep in mind that he was under the rival school's tent.

I get it, we were all young at one point. We were all young and part of being young is figuring life out.

Wrong place.
Wrong time type situation.
