Boardwalk Empire Season 3 Thread - "Margate Sands" SEASON FINALE

I miss seeing Paz de la Huerta's fat naked ***.

that chick will get naked with the quickness.

The lack of Chalky and Capone during the early course of the season has made in my opinion for a better payoff in these last two episodes of the season. All those minor character buildups that the Jimmy fanatics hated were all done for a reason. Capone slowly becoming the boss. Chalky taking Samuel into the family. If both guys were off killing all season, these upcoming battles wouldn't hold the same value since we would have seen it already. And they are definitely being set up for prominent roles in the next season.

Aight this is probably a stupid question, but this has been bothering me so I must bring it up. When Rosetti shows up to Chalky's spot he goes, "paging Mr. Chalky White". And it made me think. Was there even such thing as "paging" someone back then?? Lol

She's ugly though. I want to see more of Gillian naked. Harrow's girl too.

Let's not forget Van Alden's wife :smokin

Let's not forget Margaret's old boss who owns the dress shop. :hat
:lol :x I'm almost choked in mid laugh. You wild.

:lol I noticed that too. Gotta assume that it was a **** up or the saying is older than the device and refers to something else.

DAMN.

Good bit of trivia.

I could've looked that up myself but instead I went back and watched to hear Gyp say it again and then re-watched the ending :lol :hat

An article on Grantland touches on some interesting aspects of Boardwalk Empire

http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8691845/how-hbo-boardwalk-empire-got-great-third-season

Excerpts that rang true for me
Basically, I spent the first two seasons of Boardwalk Empire  trying to figure out whether or not I even enjoyed the show. It featured premium producers, directors, writers, and actors, but it never felt like you were watching the  show of the moment. Boardwalk Empire  has been popular enough to get renewed regularly (it will be back for a fourth season next year), but it's been difficult to come to a consensus on whether or not it has been a fulfilling experience. There's a gap between high-end critical acclaim and casual fans. The uninitiated never get it. 'It's boring,' they say. 'It's trying to be something it isn't.' And maybe they were right. Fortunately, Season 3 has changed everything.
Boardwalk Empire  is different from the genre of long-form television series drama it is frequently lumped in with, and even criticized for attempting to ape. Single episodes aren't written with the purpose of generating a Monday-morning talking point. You're not going to get Owen Sleater's body in a box every week or a Gyp Rosetti choke-sex scene just for the sake of maintaining middlebrow interest and generating watercooler talk. All of the seemingly disconnected story lines that Boardwalk Empire  carried through the first two seasons are finally important moments of emotional capital. And creator Terence Winter is cashing in.

This season, Boardwalk Empire  has woven such a deep thread of individual stories that we're finally seeing the repercussions behind every character's decisions. I feel like I need to go back and watch the first two seasons now that I finally understand how to watchBoardwalk Empire. It's more than just a 'show of the moment,' strategically employing dramatic storytelling tricks to addict viewers. It's a show that's been given the runway to tell a richer, more prolific story.

Obviously I disagree with that first quote. I really feel this show requires an audience that can sit down watch a show without having a short attention span and digest everything that's going on in one sitting and try to figure out and understand why some things are happening as far as overall story goes. The first 2 seasons is nothing short of classic. It's more like one long movie so I can agree with the 2nd quote. This aint the show you just jump in the middle of cuz then you'd be lost and think it's boring.

Anyway, I was just coming in to say how much I can't wait for this season finale. Haven't come across any spoilers and I really don't know what's going to happen next for sure. Expect a few things but with this show some times it's about how it happens.

I'm a huge fan of how Eli's character is being written this season. Am I the only one?
No I wish they wouldn't have had him betray Nucky in season 2.... I always liked him but he really came out on his own this season but knowing this show he's probably going to get the Axe....

I really hope not, but if he does I'm sure it will be at the hands of Nucky's enemies. I see him as being forever loyal to Nucky now, seeing how he has been given a second chance.

Nuck needs Chalky more than ever. He keeps at all in check and is a good leader. I will be heated if they kill him tomorrow.
