I don't know about all that. I know most ppl deep throat Nolan nowadays cuz of the Bat trilogy but he has other great works prior to that.

Vince has given us greatness but so far it has only been that one thing. I'll mos def give this a chance but it's prime time and it's CBS. Different area. Way different set of rules and limitations.

Don't expect the same amount of quality. There won't be a slow burn. It'll get a chance better than most since they won't just give it the pilot test run first and then he'll have to produce like 20+ eps (I know they say 13 the first season but CBS will get greedy like their counterparts). Pacing will be wildly different. Probably more filler eps per season. He'd be real lucky to strike gold again and for this situation that'd be something like LOST where you see it lasting multiple seasons.

Reading through all of the article I do wish he had took this to Netflix. Oh well giving it a shot regardless.

Because say he wants to do it in a public place? It might be a tad more discreet to slip her some ricin in her tea than shooting her in the face at a coffee shop. Not to mention easier than even waiting for her at her home then shooting here, since he'd have to deal with neighbors, the noise, other factors that could go wrong. Ricin is easy and discreet and you'd want to be there to make sure it's ingested.

Plus they're stressed how Lydia takes her tea with stevia repeatedly. While that could just be a character quirk they've hammered home, it's also something to think about.

Gilligan also worked on the X-Files and wrote/exec produced a ton of episodes.

Nolan has a body of work to warrant the praise and respect, so I don't think it's a fair comparison. But I'm sure the quality will be high and going to CBS means it'll probably run for 8 years.

Rewatching the 1st episode really made me realize that Walt really was in it for his family when he made that video.

Now that the finale is coming up, I'm thinking how it would've been dope to have 7 seasons. Season 5 could've been all bout building the empire, season 6 he would be about getting his Gus on and running it smoothly, and season 7 could've been all about the downfall. I still love how it's going down now though.

And it would have been one of the very rare shows to maintain it's excellence through seven seasons.

I would have been thrilled with two full seasons rather than splitting it up. 26 episodes rather than the 16 we got because anymore than that you'd start to get more filler episodes or weaker storylines. Three full seasons would be 39 episodes.. that's a ton of TV, and it probably wouldn't have all been at this high of level.

Ignoring the behind the scenes issues with AMC, there's really something to be said to go out on top. Fans of the Sopranos know how the cracks started to show and they might have been better off ending it earlier. Even The Wire had some weak parts in their final season.

Sony Pictures Television, the studio that has an exclusive contract with Mr. Gilligan, announced on Wednesday that it had concluded a rich deal with CBS to produce a new series created by Mr. Gilligan, with a guarantee that it will go onto the network’s prime-time schedule next fall.

The show, a police drama called “Battle Creek,” comes with an added layer of elite television pedigree. Based on Mr. Gilligan’s script, which he originally wrote for CBS 10 years ago, before he created “Breaking Bad,” the show’s production will be led by David Shore, another celebrated television producer, who created and produced the longtime Fox hit drama “House.”

This could not sound any less appealing.

Also Jesse Plemons and Rob Forster were amazing last week.. especially Plemons. Maybe it's because we all associate him with Landry so closely.

Was thinking almost the exact same thing earlier today.  I mean it was only a couple episodes after gus and dude already had a huge empire.  Would of loved to seen him build it up season 5, Walt vs the Nazis season 6 and finale season 7 cat and mouse between Walt/Hank.

Exactly. This show could have benefited from an extra two seasons. I mean the only way we saw Walt on top of the meth business was through a montage.

The montage with Walt making mad money and building up the empire was perfect to me. Once Walt was king and errything was going his way, there was no time to bask in his glory. He made 80 mil so fast - it was almost forgettable. That's definitely how it feels to Walt. The process of getting there is the real journey.

This last stretch of episodes have been classic. I wouldn't trade them for a couple more back stories. A season of the nazis and a season of hank would ruin what makes this season so thrilling. Everything collapsing at the same damn time

I disagree - even though it was a ridiculously stupid move on AMCs part - I thought the shortened time period made them step up their game. No way are these final episodes as hard hitting if they had more time to split the story up.

Nothing would have been changed. The montage could've still been there and all that stuff, just an expanded version of what we got would've been better IMO.
