Breaking Bad Thread - "El Camino" - A Breaking Bad Movie on Netflix 10/11

The Wire is ridiculously overrated.

No way..It's a truly timeless show..I won't say it's my favorite, but it's definitely top 3 for me..I personally feel BB was better than Wire..But it's not like BB blows it outta the water..

Here's my list of must see shows:

Breaking Bad
The Wire
The West Wing
Deadwood
NYPD Blue
MASH
Spartacus
Game of Thrones

And anyone who thinks Walking Dead is the best show of this decade is basically ******ed..Show is beyond garbage..

No shot am I reading through this thread at any point until I finish up the series :lol .

I caved and decided to start it up last night to see what the hype is all about. Safe to say I'm hooked. Had off from work today so I'm starting up Season 2 now.

I don't feel inclined to proclaim a huge fandom just yet, but I definitely love the pairing of Walter and Jesse. So opposites, but they work so well together.

I was sold to keep watching after seeing the scene where Jesse's ceiling caved in with the body parts from the bathtub :lol I see how wild this show can get, even for having aired on AMC.

Yes to all of this... good one on the Principal Carmen nude scene.

Also, agree this was the best... yet at least.

Lost could have been up there, but...

Still haven't seen the wire.

As you will (correctly) hear over and over, the Wire is, pretty much undoubtedly, the best and most sophisticated American show ever created.  But BB is definitely in the discussion, maybe even a 1B to the Wire's 1A.
I just finished watching The Wire like a week ago. I enjoyed BB way more given how it started and where it ended. Calling it the most sophisticated American show is a reach imo let alone the best.

The two really shouldn't be compared though.

Finished the series last night |I but :hat .

-Had the hitch that Walt would die, just didn't know how. Bittersweet to see him go in a lab where he felt most alive for the entire series.
-Glad Jesse went on his way. I knew damn well he couldn't go through with shooting Walt.
-:smokin at the trunk of the car gun contraption that offed the crew.
-Hit me right in the feels that Walt wasn't able to say bye to Walt Jr. face to face.
-Couldn't stand Lydia. Knew right away her tea was poisoned, was just waiting on the confirmation scene.

I binge watched the show (two weeks time), so that right there can testify to how much I enjoyed it. Definitely up there in my tops of all time that I've seen.

Really appreciated how every characters story had closure.

i just meant like imagine a show like this with this premise with hbo's budget

Principal Carmen nude scene. 8o

Seriously though, I'm imagining it and I don't see how it gets much better. It's one of, if not the best, directed/ produced/ looking/ acted series ever.

wait there's a nude scene with her? What season and episode?

I too do think that this was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Only thing is I think I wasn't as attached to it as I am with Sons Of Anarchy because I never had to wait week to week and then wait for the next season like I have with SoA

Walter White did an amazing job. The pairing of him and Jesse was perfect.

just started watching breaking bad last week. finished up season 3 the other night. it's really good...can't say it's better than Dexter though. Not yet anyways. I skipped through all of the posts in here and I probably won't be back until I finish it so nothing gets spoiled. Just thought I'd let you guys know

dexter had some good moments and the trinity killer season was fantastic but the whole last 2 seasons and, especially the ending, sucked. that show turned out to be a stinker. seemed like acting got worse as the seasons progressed.

breaking bad picked up steam and the last 2 seasons, and especially the ending, were amazing. the actors really flourished in their roles. as a complete entity, it ranks at the top of the tv series heap for me.

I felt real disgust and anger within myself at that Dexter>BB comment. The final season was probably one of the worst seasons of any TV show period; I'm pretty sure all of us kept watching after that horse @#$% season 5 just cause we had spent so much time watching the show already

Bro I shed tears when my homie Hank caught the slug to the head....that ***** was a heart breaking moment in TV for me.

There's still great shows on tv right now though. Don't act like this was the only great thing to watch.

I don't enjoy anything on tv now.

Ive gona to watching house of cards and breaking bad on Netflix again before enjoying anything on tv right now.

Well there isn't much better than House of Cards and BB that's similar. GoT is great but it's not in that same vein. There's other great stuff like Vikings, The Americans, etc. though.

I'd say try Fargo and Hannibal.

Well sucks for you. I'm a tv show addict so I still have Mad Men, GOT, Orphan Black, The Americans, Vikings, Hannibal, House of Cards, True Detective, and Banshee to watch. Tyrant on fx looks like it'll be good too. Still need to check out Fargo and The Bridge.
