Agreed with the Thibs/Gar/Adams fiasco. That has me legitimately concerned.
At no point did I say the bench was a second class concern - I said it wasn't the most important part of our team so don't take my words out of context. And I never talked down on Marco and Nate. I was simply iterating the point that signing them to bigger contracts would mean moving someone for more cap space, and I'm not sure there are any players you can move in that situation without getting worse.

Nah, this is closer to PJax and Krause.
Vinny semi-deserved to be choked out
Tension building between Forman, Thibodeau?
First Bulls GM doesn't renew Adams' contract, then angers coach with comments
By K.C. Johnson, Chicago Tribune reporter

Unite and move forward.
That's the message general manager Gar Forman presented Monday, two days after the Tribune reported Forman, not coach Tom Thibodeau, decided not to renew lead assistant coach Ron Adams' contract, which expired Sunday.
Forman's theory will be tested immediately. Two sources said Thibodeau, who didn't comment on Adams' departure other than in a statement, didn't like Forman divulging his thoughts about Thibodeau's coaching in explaining the Adams decision.
"Tom makes the decisions on the floor," Forman said. "I think he's as good a coach as there is in the NBA. I think he does a great job. Do I agree with absolute every decision he makes? We communicate and probably not. But I'm going to support decisions he makes. And I think he's going to support decisions I make. As long as once they are made, we unite and move forward because the goal is to make this team better and compete for a championship."
Forman said he and Thibodeau "have a very good working relationship." Yet he offered that assessment alone, returning for a second news conference after Thibodeau notably had only joined him in the first to introduce draft picks Tony Snell and Erik Murphy before returning to his office.
"Ron is a great friend, an outstanding coach and I will miss him," Thibodeau said in his statement.
Forman repeatedly rebuffed questions on why he released Adams, one of the league's more respected assistants and one respected by Bulls players. The Tribune reported Saturday that Forman objected to Adams' displeasure with personnel moves.
Tellingly, Forman did say Thibodeau will continue to have a voice as far as recommending hires but that Forman has final say over all personnel decisions. While this dynamic is true in most organizations, a head coach more often than not has stronger say in his staff.
"Tom and I communicate on a daily basis," Forman said. "There are times where I may make decisions that Tom doesn't totally agree with. There may be times where Tom makes decisions that I don't totally agree with. It's like that in any business. I've got to make decisions that I feel are best for the Bulls."
Forman said the rest of the staff remains in place and under contract and there would be internal discussions on whether Adams will be replaced. The Tribune reported Adrian Griffin could be promoted to lead assistant.
"We want to thank Ron for what he's brought and wish him the best of luck in the future," Forman said. "We make tens if not hundreds of decisions ever year, from free agency to trades to the draft to different personnel within the organization. When we make a decision like this, it doesn't serve anybody well to go into detail. The decision was made by me because I felt it was best for the Bulls moving forward."

As @KCJHoop reports on Gar Forman's dismissal of Tom Thibodeau's top aide, relationship between Bulls' GM and coach easily worst in NBA.
The thing that sucks is the chicago fan base is a little too loyal. We are top in attendance no matter whether we are in the bottom or on the top. It doesn't give the front office much incentive to make the team better and it probably doesn't give them much incentive to prevent Thibs leaving. And it would probably hurt to see Rose go but somehow I think they'llget over it pretty fast. This is the same front office who watchedd Mj and Phil go, like it's been mentioned. Very disconcerting. It's why the front office doesn't have any problems making power plays or delaying resigning Thibs or maintain the status quo in free agency.
Ironically, if Chicago had a fairweather fan base like Miami, the team would be better. The front office would be bending over backwards and on their knees making Thibs and Rose happy.
Well thibs needs to get over it. He's always saying next man up and we have enough to win. Don't let an overrated coach derail the plan. Our offensive sets were never creative or consistent enough in crunch time. If thibs gets the right coach in place now we can have a very good offense with the return or rose and emergence of buckets.
pretty sure they are talking about his aide not thibs
All we need is for Rose to return to Mvp form, for the bench not to be worse than last year's, and for Jimmy Butler to continue to improve and we're good for Eastern conference finals easily. And if Snell can surprise everyone and turn out to be a Tayshaun Prince clone, so much the better.
Nice to see someone else get it.......
