What's so "misleading" about it. A tax is a tax. It will increases the prices of goods.

Anything for the sake of supporting your ideology, right?

Keep drinking your government Fluoride and Arsenic ridden water out of BPA estrogenic lined water bottles.

The more taxes you have, the more loopholes you have. States don't have a problem collecting revenue, they spend too much damn money. It doesn't matter how much taxes you have, if you spend more than what you have you are always going to lose.

How Amazon.com undersells Best Buy, the Apple store, and almost everybody else.

So where would the competition come from?

Amazon still buys the computers from Apple at the same price as Best Buy does, what does Apple care? Amazon can afford to sell lower because they don't have retail stores and therefore don't have the overhead Apple does. Apple has to pay for employees, R&D, ect. Amazon doesn't.

I guarantee if Apple just went web based and closed retail stores prices of their products would be lowered. Amazon doesn't have an advantage, they just run a more efficient business.

The misleading part is "the Internet". They're not collecting tax from the Internet, they're collecting it through merchant channels who act as a retailer.

Which operate and conduct business out of what? They are taxing to use the internet to conduct business, nothing misleading.

Come on, bro. You're smarter than that.

Damn... I am an Amazon prime shopper too. Sad news. So they lower 1% of the sales tax starting July but the one place I can shop tax free is bullied to collect sales taxes from me. Who the #*+! voted for this piece of @%*! Jerry Brown. I am starting to hate these Democrats who want to tax us to DEATH!

WEAK SAUCE!

You are missing the consumer angle. Amazon is my #1 retailer solely because of the lack of sales tax (and Prime shipping). I could have bought my latest camera anywhere but I chose Amazon because I saved almost $100 dollars on taxes. The price was exactly the same at Best Buy.
You are right about B&M costs but Amazon also has this unfair advantage over Best Buy even while Amazon occupies many of the same states but through legal loopholes, avoids taxes.

Ok. You're right. I guess the broad, vague terms wouldnt confuse people (Sun Doobie, for example) into thinking customers of Amazon who reside in CA and use the Internet to make purchase from Amazon would be taxed...you right.
