i am looking to build the best sounding system. i am no newbie to this.. just no expert
i hear that diamond audio has the best component speakers
and i want to know who makes the best 6x9s
What 6x9s should i get?

MB quart has the best speakers money can buy but money can buy $9,000 speakers from them so thats that saying much..

then your still wrong..pioneer makes some of the worst amps and subs on the market... if i were him i would do some rainbow components up front + some kickpanels with another set of comps...no speakers in the back..no need for rear fill..and 1 15 inch fi q in the trunk..thats if he has the money for itthough..rainbows are expensive but well worth it

MB Quarts
Boston Pro's
Rainbow's
Focal's

you want good components? no budget?

Get these, and then tell me how they sound.

I plan on removing my rear speakers and just using comps + sub. Just amp your component speakers..and if they're good they should take 150-300 watts(depending on which comps you get). Getting rear 6x9 speakers seems pretty pointless to me..since your substage will just drown out the speaker noise from therear anyways.

Components FTW.

to each his own though.

Diamond audio is not the best.
MB Quart is not the best...

They aren't even considered High End by most standards. MB Quart used to be, but they fell off.

Take a look at Hybrid Audio Legatia's.....more wins on the SQ circuit than all other companies combined.
My recommendation would be to go to a highend audio shop and listen. Of all the High End components, the biggest difference is personal preference, notquality.

Sound Deaden the ENTIRE car. Road noise and resonance is the number one enemy of SQ. I prefer Second Skin Products.
Ditch the rear speakers.
For your components, you'll want to run them actively through a processor.

Heres one set-up I'd recommend.

Alpine Head Unit
Alpine PXA-h701 processor with controller...allows you to run a 3-way front stage + subwoofer stage.
Hybrid Audio Legatia Components
For amps take a look at Sundown Audio, Audison, or Zapco to name a few....
Image Dynamics IDQ12 v3 Subwoofers are excellent.

The most important thing is the sound deadening and the install quality. You can buy the best and most equipment in the world and a bad install could soundlike crap.

Thats a starting point, Im sure youll have questions.

yea sound deadening is very important..i hope his budget is big..because that alone is atleast 1200

^Yeah, Im assuming his budget is high since he said no budget really....but he may be unaware of the true cost of SQ.

For a SQ it's the best of the 3 in my opinion. The Fi Q is a great subwoofer, especially for the price, but its not as good as the W7.....but as goodas the W7 is, its still overpriced and doesn't sound as good as the IDQ, or the IDMax. Two IDQ's in a infinite baffle setup sound EXCELLENT with ~500RMS total.

SQ FTL, maybe when I get older I'll appreciate it. BUT IMHO I think focal might have some of the best stuff out there, and Rainbow germainium componentstoo. SQ is just too costly to me, but good sound is appreciated. One thing thats funny to me is people who use w7s PURELY for SPL.

True, Focal makes very good drivers. I really likes the mids, but the tweeters are EXTREMELY harsh.

Horrible brands - avoid these brands at all cost, there a total waste of money.

Entry level brands - good for the first time car audio enthusistest, you get a great sound for a cheap price.

High quality brands - these are more expensive that entry level, but not rediculously expensive, since you get execellent sound that will be louder/cleanerthat entry level brands.

Competition brands - these brands are the mother of all brands, prices are very expensive but if you can afford it these are the brands that win soundcompetitions at car shows.

I dunno....but with the Focals they are just so overpowering with the treble. Its hard to find a good balance...I prefer soft dome tweeters with alaid back sound like Seas, Hybrid, Peerless and Dynaudio.

yeh.. i didnt want to build an entire system with one brand.. i know different brands have their strengths. i just wnted to mix/match with every company'sstrength
