The coaching staff is going to a more perimeter-oriented offense IMO. Last year, they'd force feed to KG and have him pick the defense apart. However, the problem with KG's game is that he doesn't get to the line often due to his penchant to take fadeaways, and him having the ball all thetime turned Ray Allen into strictly a jumpshooter, not really giving him the freedom to penetrate. But when they got into the Finals last year, the Cs decidedto give their wings more touches after the Lakers put Kobe on Rondo. It was much tougher for KG to find guys open on the perimeter with Kobe roaming. That's why Ray broke out during the Finals, and the offense looked smoother.Originally Posted by Banks2Pierce
I gotta be honest with you guys. Our starting lineup looks way better than they did last year. Rondo looks much more comfortable with everybody and the offense has been unstoppable in the preseason. Our offense was always trailing behind our defense last year, but the championship has done wonders for our offense for some reason.

The only problem might be with the bench sorting itself out.
Should be interesting to see what Doc does with the minutes this year and kind of keeps the minutes down for the Big 3 in a similar manner to what Detroit does in an attempt to develop their young talent.
I guess I am willing to sacrifice a few regular season wins to get the young guys like Bill Walker and Gabe Pruitt in some important spots.
I will be in the house.
It appears as if he will be the starter in Tuesday's regular-season opener in Boston.
"There's a good chance he will (start)," Brown said.
Brown liked how West fit in with point guard Mo Williams and small forward LeBron James.
"I thought they worked well together," he said. "With him, LeBron and Mo out on the floor, you have three legitimate playmakers. All of those guys know how to play together."
Gibson adds muscle, builds confidence
INDEPENDENCE - Daniel "Boobie" Gibson now has a five-year, $21 million contract to go with his million-dollar smile.
But don't think for a moment that an easygoing demeanor and financialsecurity are indicators of complacency in the 22-year-old Texan.
The third-year guard has set his sights high, for the Cavaliers and forhimself, going into the 2008-09 season.
"Looking at the guys we have, I feel we're not missing one aspect of a championship team," Gibson said.
"We have the guards. We have the shooters. We have the defenders. We have LeBron James. We have everything we need to get to where we want to be at the end of the season," Gibson said. "It's just a matter of us getting out there and putting in the effort."
After averaging 4.6 points and 10.6 points in his first two NBA seasons, Gibson had a busy summer. In June, he elected to have surgery performed on the ailing left ankle that troubled him down the stretch last season. He them returned to his hometown, Houston, to rehabilitate the ankle while working on his overall game with former NBA point guard and former Cavs coach John Lucas.
"He brings you back down to Earth," Gibson said of Lucas. "He puts everything in front of you and tells you what you need to get better at. Then he forces you to do it.
"This was a great summer for me, maybe my best as a professional athlete. I'm stronger. I don't feel as though I'm fragile because I've added muscle. I'm back to feeling like myself."

No Mo excuses
CLEVELAND -- Now that he finally has his gold medal, LeBron James is eyeing another glittering prize.
James, the getting-better-by-the-year superstar, spent part of his summer leading the U.S. Redeem Team to Olympic basketball glory at the Beijing Games. Now he believes this is the season he can take the Cavaliers further than ever before. His sights are on an NBA championship and the shiny Larry O'Brien Trophy that goes with it.
"This is the best team that we've had since I've been here," said James, entering his sixth season as a pro. "I see the talent from 1 to 14, everybody can contribute. I know I've improved five times than I was in Game 7 of the Boston series."
Whoa. Did he say, five times better?
Cavs are on the clock before LeBron sweepstakes
PA SportsTicker Staff Writer
LeBron James and Jay-Z are scheduled to lead a rally for supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama at Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday, hours after the Cleveland Cavaliers open the 2008-09 season on the road against the Boston Celtics.
You can almost hear Cleveland fans collectively mutter, "Great, they're already teaming up."
Such is the uncomfortable feeling you get when a part-owner of an NBA team is kicking it with the heart and soul of your franchise - James, a member of the free agent class in 2010, when the superstar can opt out of his contract.
Hip-hop mogul Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter apparently is best friends with James and plans on being one of many voices tempting the All-Star to bolt Cleveland and join a world filled with money, more money and - possibly - many victories with the New Jersey or Brooklyn Nets.
Stuck in the small market of Cleveland, James has quite a decision to make - eventually. And the decision will become harder thanks to the New York Knicks, who will attempt to lure the superstar to Broadway and everything else that comes with it.
As such, the clock is ticking for the Cavaliers.
This could be the most crucial season in solidifying their spot in the sweepstakes for the hometown hero. They need to show James they can win a title and prove hoisting a trophy is more fun than selling out for more money or press.
What happens if they bow out prematurely for the fourth straight year? Will James make up his mind?
After getting eliminated in back-to-back postseasons by the eventual champions, coach Mike Brown should be able to sell his players on the idea they can be among the elite, especially after pushing the Celtics to seven games in the Eastern Conference semifinals last season.
With the offseason acquisition of point guard Mo Williams - the man Cleveland's braintrust is banking on to become Robin to LeBron's Batman - this team is turning to yet another warm body to serve as a wingman for James.
Williams, who possesses a track record of success, brings a certain energy to the floor that former running mates Drew Gooden and Larry Hughes and current center Zydrunas Ilgauskas have not been able to generate.
A five-year veteran, the 25-year-old Williams averaged 17.2 points and 6.3 assists last season with the Milwaukee Bucks. If he could help Charlie Villanueva and Michael Redd flourish, can you imagine what he can do with the best player in the game?
But again, Williams' desire to win and serve as a sidekick might be the key to the Cavaliers fending off whispers of James wanting to leave at the first available opportunity. Perhaps Williams is the measure of support James has been coveting.
