I read somewhere that fan viewing of sports in general is down for all the leagues. I wonder how much that weighs on the NFL.
But the NFL makes big time money from CBS, NBC, ABC, etc...pulling from a top 10 market to the 46th market will not bode well for those stations and the potential of millions of viewers in the long term...
I mean I understand the $750M in free money is crazy, but it is a bit short sighted imo.
Then you add the Rams and the Chargers being a two hour ride away...you're killing the Chargers in amarket they just moved into and will have zero chance of success cause LA doesn't even really want them.
Seen people argue that the north east has tons of teams that are close in proximity to each other. But the Raiders run the southwest market. Can't compare that to anything in the north east.
Just doesn't make sense. Maybe I'm still looking at this from a bias perspective tho...
