As of right now I have work still

Kings need to stay in this game, not make any typical Kings-like mistakes and we'll be golden

these are legit quotes from one of the Sonics forums

I don't understand why they want us to fail so badly

Tired of KJ. He’s a pathetic politician who has played harder for this than he did in the NBA

I think mainly for me, I just wanted to see Sac fall flat on its face and see this thing end right now! If KJ had played this hard as a player, he’d have been a Michael Jordan or at least something close to it.

I guess they're not familiar with him being an All Star and what he actually accomplished in his career. Can't wait to post the picture of him dunking on Oljuwon after they stay.

In the mean time... love the #KJing trend in Sac. lol

This is huge!
Term sheet points out something often overlooked in arena discussions: Retains up to 800 existing jobs & creates btwn 2,300-6,500 new ones

Also, another point I've been trying to bring up. Seattle's public subsidy isn't nearly as large as Sac's
Nice to see a term sheet that actually makes sense for everyone involved. Major public-private partnership. Industry standard is being set.

hey now dont get too cocky

still gonna take a miracle for the kings to stay. i dont trust the boa and d stern
I'd say in January it was a miracle, when we were blind sided with this.

Now that Sacramento has done everything no the NBA and Stern's check list (literally set forth by the constitution), I feel like we have a legitimate shot at this.

It's only considered a miracle to the uninformed.
There are people in the NBA Thread that seriously think the Kings moving to Seattle is set in stone.

It cracks me up.

But hey, thats why Carmichael Dave is out on the road trying to get the word out!

edit: Both the Boston Globe and NY Times ran a story about us and Dave's journey

Years from now KJ will be recognized as the legend he rightfully deserves to be called. If and when Sacramento becomes a major city people will point to this moment in time and realize that he not only saved a city from conservatism and non-progression, he made it thrive when his political counterparts initially didn't believe in him. No lie, KJ is my hero.

I hope it does become a major city. i'm all about West Coast progression. Maybe even pick up another sports team :D

Living in Cali has me spoiled, I've only left this state (not counting traveling abroad or Vegas) three times since moving here when I was little.

I will be heading to Seattle in June tho

If you guys do lose your team, what do you think are your chances of getting another?
In our lifetime? .0000000001%

Assuming I live till like 75, thats another 50 years. So who knows, alot can happen in 50 years. Maybe Sacramento can elevate itself to a destination without a pro sports franchise and somehow develop and expand a ghost of a downtown. But I hardly see that happening...

The loss of the Sacramento Kings and the failure of not building a downtown entertainment and sports complex will result in a far greater blow than I think most residents here even realize. Without it, Sacramento will continue to be a small, mundane government town that most people just joke about.

This fight that KJ is putting up has so much meaning behind it than just basketball. He's fighting for a future in Sacramento where it can someday be a Seattle or any other larger destination market. And building the ESC downtown will jumpstart that development and growth.

Sidenote, I really hope Sacramento gets an MLS team in a few years..... but I'm kinda upset that the USL taem we're getting is associated with the Sounders. I hate the Sounders

and to add to why the NBA won't return; Sacramento has no Chris Hansens or Ballmers, we don't have Nordstroms (the family).

Nobody in Sacramento has that deep of pockets to lure a team here.

The reason we have billionaires stepping up to keep the team here, is because thats the only alternative (for now) since no other team is for sale.

In the future without the Kings, Sacramento will stay being this small town. Statistics and rankings aside, Sacramento as a city is not enough to lure a team here.

Which is why this fight to keep the Kings here is so important.

Like one of those tweets you posted mentioned, Sac has sooooo much to lose here.

I don't know if you were joking about the unemployment rate in your thread, but building this arena isn't purely for keeping the Kings. Its to revitalize and develop a non-existent downtown. Seattle already has that. Having a legit downtown, will help lower those unemployment rates, raise tax dollars for Sacramento to spend on teachers, fire, police; all that good stuff. The arena will be a catalyst for growth.

Like I've always said, this is about so much more than basketball.

Rck what i'm trying to say is If Sacramento keeps the Kings & it becomes a major city, i hope they get another team. Maybe MLB or MLS.

I don't think the MLS will do that to any city

Baseball maybe, but again, the whole point of the downtown arena and keeping the Kings is to revitalize the biggest zombie area of the busiest/major part of Sacramento.

The MLB can't do that because any baseball stadium would likely be built out where there is room

But as a soccer fan, I do hope the MLS come to Sacramento!

reread your post, and missed key words.

But yes I agree. Keeping the Kings, growing the city will only bring in another team sooner or later.

Plus, with the new equity guys planning on investing $1B on development I don't see how it doesn't promote growth. I honestly can't wait
