Yeah I think they probably thought it was gonna be a one and done type of thing. Hit us 80's babies with some nostalgia and call it a day. Nope we needed more.

I've always said Chozen would've wiped the floor with all the Cobra Kai kids from KK1 and KK3. Dude was ready to fight to the death and kill Daniel-son if it wasn't for an entire village turning on him to root for the gaijin. Dude was ready to die for that love, but they all turned on him.
