Computer P.S.A. (helpful programs, apps, and tips)

everytime i start my computer, a error report thing pops up saying "firedaemon needed to close" i tired searching for firedaemon.exe and couldnt find it, how can i remove this from my computer?? ive tried all the spyware, virus programs, ccleaner, tune up utilties and nothing has worked
 
thats the website i was going to but after i click download now it says its been succesfully downloaded but i cant find it anywhere in my computer. i know i dont have it in my computer already because youtube wont let me watch stuff and it directs me to that website to dl the new version
 
Hey i am having problems with the image on my monitor once again. I'm not sure if it is a problem with my drivers, monitor or the actual operating system. Here is a screen shot of my desktop >>>i7.tinypic.com/25517gj.jpg
This is a screen shot straight after start up.
This doesn't happen constantly but the image does distort quite often.
There are also occasions where things i have previously viewed appear taking up portions of the screen and may sit on my desktop and won't dissapear even after refreshing it.

after deleting alot of programs from my computer its starting to run alot better now :smile: it seemed like all the time my comp would be using 90-100% cpu usage

Hey I use a mac, and i'm trying to figure out how to convert M4A files and AAC files to MP3. Does anyone have an idea of how to do this? Thanks.

Ok well i've got a problem i've been trying to tackle for a week or so, and i haven't had any luck..So ANY info would be much appreciated..Ok well on to the problem

I've been recording all of the USA basketball games and for whatever reason (prolly the program i use) my files are like 10gb each...And i have i think 5 or 6 files like that...

But since i ran a schedule type thing to record the games, there is about 5 minutes before and about 40 minutes of stuff after the game that i don't need, but it's on there (recorded)....

Ok so i've been searching the internet for something that could cut and trim the video, of course without losing too much video quality and keeping the audio..Except everything i have used was complete crap..

If anybody could recommend me a program that could cut and trim my videos without losing much quality and keeping the audio, while being pretty easy to use, it would help me out a lot.

These huge files have created 2 major issues. One being that i can't defrag at all because as soon as the defrag gets to one of the files my comp just freezes up and two my D drive is gettin low on space because of these huge files that need to be trimmed..

^ You're gonna need to convert them to a different format. It's not always easy, but it's basically your only choice. I like the XviD codec. Look around on these sites.

I just got a Toshiba gigabeat that comes with a Windows Media 10 installer. Anyway, I upgraded to WMP 11 beta last night, but its not working properly because i cant add any files to my Library. I cant go back to WMP 10 because a newer version is installed. WMP isnt even listed as a program in the ADD/DELETE section....what do i do??? i need to get rid of the 11 beta. thanks

Do this.

Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components > Scroll down to WMP, and uninstall. Then install version 10.

my notebook keeps getting red borders around images and the shadow in images get red sprinkles in them.I tap my screen and they go away for a while,but they come back.How can I fix this?thanks!!!

i got a questiona bout morpheus... see with limewire most of the 200 + user files were bad files. morpheus so far everythings been cool but iono if im grabbing spyware or some other bad stuff. basically im paranoid cause the last couple of stuff i download like 15+ files had like 100+ users.

I just got a 60gb Toshiba gigabeat. the cd installer comes with WMP 10. Adding files to the library is easy but adding the album art is an impossible pain in the @#%$. WMP 11 beta 2 makes it easy to add album art ( itunes style drap and drop pic) , but when i add albums to the library, it only adds like 20 out of 120 CD's. when it scans a music folder it'll detect the files , but then it just wont add them to the library. I know its beta mode, but my buddy doesnt have this problem, and i dont understand why it wont add the files to the library. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

Does anyone know where I can get different skins for objectdock without having to buy the pro version? I don't mess with windows much anymore but i'm trying to help my boy get his stuff right and I can't figure out how to download/install them. I got the actual bar up but can't do much with the rest after that. Preciate it guys.

How do i get rid of programs that won't go away. I tried the Add.Remove program in the Control Panel, but the program(Firefox) still shows up on my desktop

Also, Is the any way to reuse free software demos after the trial time is over?
