Congrats to LBJ for his 3rd MVP

Even though I don't like him as a player, he had arguably one of the greatest seasons of all time. Congrats

Then the ring talks...Adam Morrison has one, don't mean nothing...The personal trainers deserved one before he did.

Will the rings add to his resume? Damn sure it will, but it shouldn't take away from what he's capable of accomplishing.
QTmLK.gif

Adam Morrison played virtually 0 minutes when he "won" those rings. Comparing the two is pure blasphemy. LeBron is the main dude, Morrison was the last option off the bench.

We all know what he's capable of, we've known that since he was in high school. We all know what a lot of players a capable of. But potential =/= greatness. You are measured by how much you win. Simple as that. You play to win the game. If you're playing for any other reasons, you got it all wrong.

One of the most underrated players in the NBA. WELL deserved award.

I think a lot of yall are letting your personal feelings of the man (as far as how he carries himself off the court) cloud any objectivity towards how he actually plays ON the court. At some point you have to separate the two. %+@*, you don't have to like the man as a person, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna sit here and discredit how dominant he was on both ends of the floor this season because of some %*%+@%%* bias.

I've come to realize that no matter what he does, he can't win in the eyes of certain fans. If they get the 'chip this year, folks are gonna throw up *'s because of the shortened season. If he wins another down the road, folks will point to his defection from Cleveland to play with Bosh/Wade (even tho we know he's the best player on that team by FAR) as the only reason why he won. Like I said...he won't be able to win in the eyes of certain fans.

He's the most polarizing athlete in the NBA due to the fact there is little to no objectivity involved in many discussions concerning him.

I hte him because he took the easiest path possible and his a flopping whining %#+%. Needs an olympic team to sniff a title. But tht disappearing act in the finals cant be glossed over like ppl want. That was extreme. He deserves it this year. Durant had it on a plate and had a terrible finish to the season. All im saying is there is some strange push from his fans that you MUST like lebron.

Do people really not understand the difference between a role player having a ring and a superstar having one? I don't think all of Lebrons success should be tied to a championship but obviously him leading his team to one is different than Adam Morrison winning one. Rings shouldn't be the only defining characteristic of a player but they certainly are a factor, especially in a leading role

No, you hate him because he toyed with your Knicks loving-*%* for 2 1/2 years and went to Miami.  You'd be singing a MUCH different tune if he was wearing blue and orange.

So? Why should i like him? He went to a rival that already had wade and bosh. Hes the guy that teams up with 4 other amazing players in a pick up game. Just so he coukd feel good about beating a team of scrubs

Nothing else you said held any merit.

Just keep it simple... you don't like him because you thought he was coming to play for the NYK and he didn't.  That's it. That's All.

If you're talking to me my point is that Bron was the prized possession that he had been coveting for 2+ years and looking for every little sign that stated that he was coming to the NYK so when Bron didn't DubA became a scorned lover.

lol I dont get it tho, how come no one said anything when Melo joined amari tho?

lmaaooooooo! the hate for Lebron is crazy!

You guys are better than this. You guys might not like him, but damn do you guys constantly think of him. Threads/Posts EVERYDAY.

BJ and Horace were All-stars at one point, and let's not forget Rodman, who was never voted an All-star but might as well have been.
yes allstars once, when jordan was retired....they are role players......lebron is playing with bosh and wade with 15 combined allstar games......my point is it will be embarrassing for the MVP of the league to not win the championship this season having 2 other teammates who played in the allstar game with......do you realize how rare it is for 3 players from one team to make an allstar team?

am i really wrong in saying that it would be embarrassing for lebron to not win this year?

It's rare, but surprisingly has been done recently  (Detroit, Boston, Miami).
Embarrassing for him NOT to win it all?  I've thought dude was going to win the title the past 5 years so I don't really know

.

if they do lose (which I hope, I really do... it doesn't bother me like most CLE fans and other fan bases because I really do want to see his ability and how much he can impact the game) then something might have to happen.

6 year  contracts, right?  I said 5 of 6, but chances are that is done.

If by scorned lover you mean actual fan of an nba team? Sure. Sry I don't ride for players like most of the new generation. he went to one of our most hated rivals. He was a scared ill boy and went to wade so he can teach him how to do it. In front of one of the worst fan bases in America. That's fine. But it's also fine for me to not like or root for him. He's not on the Knicks. He can go $**% himself. And that goes for any other player. But let's not act like there aren't many reasons why fans of other teams hate on this guy. The fact that so many of his fans pretend like last years finals didnt happen is ridiculous

I don't think his fans are forgetting.. he didn't show up and he also flops too much for a player of his size and caliber.

But are we supposed to preface every positive thing we say with the things we dislike first? No player is perfect and they all have faults, but fans of Kobe, Durant, Dwight, Paul, etc. don't all list the negative traits or moments of their favorite players before talking about the good.

Basically.

For Bron to get the MVP AFTER the Decision tells you how much respect he gets from the voters in pure basketball. U know they would give it to someone else with the quickness if they could. Last year was DRose. This year was supposed to be KD.
Simply put, LBJ is BY FAR the best basketball player on the planet. Nobody plays both ends like he does. It's all about the rings to him. He's the best reg. season player since Michael Jordan. But the rings are keeping him from becoming a top 2-3 player of all time. He just needs 2-3 to do that b/c he's going to end up with 6 MVPs and a couple of DPOYs, something his contemporaries won't come close to matching.

not 2-3

he needs 4-5 rings to be consider top 5 of all time
forget about chasing jordan. he cant even surpass (yet?) the 3 big of the past decade, duncan shaq and kobe.

JAMES EXTENDS RECORD FOR LEADING TEAM IN POINTS, REBOUNDS & ASSISTS

From Elias: LeBron James had 29 points, eight rebounds and seven assists -- all team highs -- in the Heat's series-clinching win over the Knicks on Wednesday night. It was the 20th time in his pro career that James led his team outright in points, rebounds and assists in a playoff game. That's by far the highest such total for any player in NBA history. In fact the only other players who did that in at least 10 games are Larry Bird (13) and Tim Duncan (11).

Wow, that is just absurd. And I had no idea he was putting up 27 ppg on only 19 shots this year, I wonder if any non-big man aside from MJ has ever had that efficient of a season scoring-wise.

I'll admit I don't like him or the Heat very much but people go to ridiculous lengths to hate on him nowadays. I am a fan of Kobe and the Lakers but I still appreciate the games of guys like LBJ, Rose, Durant, etc. Too many people waste a lot of time and energy hating and Bron and Kobe and once they retire they'll realize they took them for granted. Even if I don't want the Heat to win a title I'd rather appreciate his game than constantly look for ways to discredit him. While it bothered me the way he joined the Heat and D-Wade, he's clearly the best player in the league and I've already accepted the fact he's gonna win a few titles.
