their mad because tiktok/China has the technology for the best algorithm and the US cant have it. US wants owernship of that technology.

I’m so ready to laugh at the women in my house when the app stops working. Let’s be clear though, no one’s access to TikTok is being cut off. The app will simply stop being available in the US app stores and then one day there will be an iOS update and these women will lose their minds knowing it’s all over for them.

The difference is American companies are under the jurisdiction of American law. Theoretically they can be made to comply with regulations around privacy.
I dont think this has anything to do with someone trying to "steal" their algorithm. And I don't think this is a free speech issue. This is almost entirely about the data being sent back to China for them to do God knows what with.

Product leaks being compared to mining data is some seriously ignorant work. And just for reference I spent 10 years working for that company in Cupertino and had semi-annual training on handling ANY kind of customer data. iMessage is encrypted end to end and Apple doesn’t mine, store or sell any data from your device or in the cloud. To even make this comparison is not only stupid, but disgusting. Get a clue.
