I was shadow boxing the wife the whole way to the parking lot. This movie was just...wow.
The training montage, continuous shots during the fights, combined with the Conti themes juxtaposed with trap drums and snares, and cinematography were just pure effervescence.
I appreciated the basic plot because it allowed the complex emotions that the characters were feeling be really salient.
Also all the Nike gear was fire. I'm like I want to rock my tech fleece while working out but it's too expensive for that
I know it's just a Rocky film but movies like these inspire me.
Well said, man. After this movie I wanted to research boxing gyms and get my Rocky on,This movie was just...wow.

those 6s looked clean.
What Nikes was he training in.
I now he had Jordan trainers in some scenes but those Nikes looked fresh.
Tech fleece'd out.
Sequel is def setting up to fight the dude who knocked him out in the gym who was supposed to fight the champ before he broke his jaw at the press conference
Andre Ward? Yeah I thought they were going to have him fight him instead of Tony Bellows (the uk guy). But yeah I def see that happening.
Awesome movie. So glad that I went to see it. From a pure boxing perspective this movie was awesome. MBJ put in a Jordanesque performance.
On a side note, Adonis fights more like Rocky than his pops by taking unnecessary punishment rather than working off of his jab and using lateral movement.
Rocky is the only person to train Adonis. Rocky teaching him his style of fighting probably is the reason for that.
But your right, I think they'll switch it up next film.
