I believe that Christopher Nolan has mentioned that this would be his last time directing a Batman film and that Christian Bale would only portray Batman under Nolan. With that said, this would probably be the last of this particular trilogy; WB will probably reboot the Batman franchise under a different direction as oppose to Nolan's constraints within reality.

It seems like franchise gold as far as I am concerned. I would hate to use the term milk it but Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan might as well keep it going while it's hot. I mean look at Keanu Reeves and the Matrix and Tobey Maguire and Spider Man. Those guys careers went no where after the blockbuster hits.

I'm good if they end it after this one. So far the last 2 movies have been good and if this one follows suit then there's no reason to complain about ending it. We got a handful of villains (the crime families, scarecrow, ra's al ghul, joker, two face, bane, & catwoman) and Bale has done a heck of a job playing Batman. Besides, if they were to make a part 4 it probably wouldn't release till 2016.
