DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

Thought this was interesting, The comic book movies subreddit did a vote/process of elimination and The Suicide Squad came out on top. Wild that I can't really disagree.

That's fair, TSS was the most enjoyable DCEU movie for me.

Part of it might be being the first movie I watched post-lockdowns but it was still a fun ride the times I watched it again.

Wasn't many good rewatchable movies to me in the DCEU outside of it, MOS, Aquaman, WW and BB.

It’s wild that dudes are still campaigning for roles in the midst of all this cbm “fatigue.”

Especially for anything DC related. Buy low, sell high I guess.

they probably still pay well and to be the star of your own blockbuster is still a big deal especially for sterling a great actor but havent really starred in his own film let alone a big production like a GL would be

even if it flops, he got the acting cache to keep doing what he’s been doing but you got to take your shot with those big roles because he isnt on the top of the list for those roles

Plus the writers strick had folks pockets hurting. I would be trying to get any gig I could get right now.

no wonder he was hyping up the flash

tom cruise for darkseid - but in actuality, dude probably wants to be deathstroke for all the fighting and stunts and likely a long chase scene - too bad he is too old for the batman they need

porn might be snyders calling

Snyder also explained what led to him releasing two different versions of the movie in the first place, revealing that Netflix balked at the idea of allowing him to develop his full 200-page script.

“They read the script. Obviously, it was an R-rated script, it was 200 pages the first time [they read it], and they were like, ‘you weren’t kidding!’ when I handed them this phone book of the script,” he recalled. “And they said, ‘200 page script, huh? Obviously, we’re not making a script into a movie, especially not this crazy, R-rated [thing]. You basically made a live-action ‘Heavy Metal’ movie, and everyone’s like naked, this is crazy.’”

In a previous interview, Snyder discussed the director's cut and how it'll differ from the PG-13 version.

"Way more brutal. More bizarre. Verhoeven-esque. More RoboCop than you know... in the way that it uses violence as another character. And there's a lot of sex in it, and sci-fi fantasy."

also doesnt make sense or netflix to say "hey, you got too much crap, we cant make that into a movie but we'll make it a two parter and then you can release a much longer of each part"... like just say make a damn mini series or something or how about just saying "no you cant do that sh*t"? sometimes you cant just let people do what they want and let their imaginations run wild and its no surprise that snyders best films are the ones where he is constraint by the work he is adapting

he just wants to put everything in his head in the film with little to no logic, this guy says it much better:
