DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

Since we're talking about Black superheros, I have to thank the likes of the DCAU, teen titans, and Young Justice for introducing me to a lot of unknown black heros/villians.

Does Black Adam count since he is being played by the Rock? They are pretty much making him more of an anti-hero from the sounds of their plans.

Martian Manhunter? I know he's an alien that transforms but he did choose to be John Jones in human form.

Good Snyder is taking a backseat. Not sold on Whedon tho. I don't trust Whedons as an idea guy.

Not buying any of that. Nope!

I like that Reeves and Jenkins, are part of the brain trust. Looking good going forward.
I'm a huge Joss Whedon fan, but it seems like he came out the cuts joining DC after leaving Marvel, like he sold Johns on the Monorail or somethin. Kinda want more original stuff from him as opposed to doing peoples other stuff, I feel like that about JJ Abrams too.

Old news. Justice league was always going to be Snyders last movie and he would take a back seat after that. We been known that

Also nah, Sirens is going to get done. Harley is too hot for it not to happen. That part is BS

This is the original John Jones:

I want to say his human cover identity of John Jones only became a black man after the black John Jones showed up in Smallville

Now I actually have no problem going that route cuz mainly J'onnz is a shapeshifter but I'm sure some will say it doesn't count. Thing is DC dropped the ball there too. That whole cool Kill Bill theory about Clark Kent being the disguise and Superman being the regular identity goes in to overdrive cuz MM is barely in his human form. He basically changes to blend in. Plus his super powers make it harder for any detective stories revolving around that. He's better suited for the infiltrator/spy type stories but DC squandered that.

As for Black Adam, I'm no expert but last I checked the country he was running was middle eastern and it read like that's the culture he identified with (granted it was a fictional country). He's definitely brown so as a hero(/anti-hero) of color he would count.

2 ways it can go, both with downsides.

1. They're doing Flashpoint for real. Its too soon, might not be the best it can be and won't have as much impact as it happens but WW vs. Aquaman and Thomas gun toting Batman will make up for it.

2. It doesn't matter that its happening too soon cuz this version of Flashpoint will be largely self contained and not have all of the dope ramifications that should branch out in to multiple movies cuz Flash is going to undo it just as fast similar to how writers of Flash on the tv show botched Flashpoint.

I'd go with #1. Everything about the DCEU has been rushed and too soon word to BvS and the weird placement of SS but oh well seems they're still making money despite critical bashing.

Good chance it could be self contained. If so, it's still too soon . That's would be like having Civil war for Caps first film instead of letting things build up the right way.

I remember watching the flashpoint animated movie and when Thomas Wayne came out blasting I remember thinking "holy ****. Batman got guns and he out here murkin". That **** will not land the same in the DCEU since Bruce murkin too :lol

Going the dark knight return part 2, was way too soon

Going death of superman, was way too soon

Going old man batman with whatever went down with Robin, was way too soon

Having super duper depressing WW who said she wanted nothing to do with man, way too soon

Would not surprise me if they went flashpoint.. worked for fox with xmen, right

Steel
cast Lebron

all jokes aside, I could really see a low budget Static Shock film

but in regards to DC, outside of John Stewart, Cyborg is probably the most famous and I think some underestimate his popularity from being part of the Teen Titans, granted this is a different New 52 version but too many kids out there who knows him not to capitalize on the character

it''s all about the writing and directing in the end anyways

jaden smith for static shock 8o
