DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

I think saying TDKR is the last best movie they made is a bit misleading. MoS isn't the greatest but it's not a bad film, it's not GL/Hulk/Daredevil status.

Plus if you really look at their slate of films the past decade, it's BB, SR, TDK, GL, TDKR and MoS. Four out of those six films are good, some are even great and I personally consider one the best comic book movie ever made still (TDK). I get that it can be 50/50 if someone hates MoS but overall it isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Plus there are lots who actually like SR over MoS. DC just aren't pumping out as much movies as Marvel so when one is bad it seems a lot worse.

Not counting Jonah Hex or Watchmen because they are more DC property than actually DC comics.

At least that's how I see it.

Now if their upcoming slate of films just bombs one after the other then every year, then that is when WB needs to just sell to Fox and have a JL x XMen film and make an instant billi. :rollin

Geoff Johns talks DC Film and TV

Looks like even though the film and TV universes are not "connected" in the same way as Marvel with Netflix shows and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Geoff Johns in an interview with Buzzfeed actually explains that they are more connected than thought, "We look at it as the multiverse. We have our TV universe and our film universe, but they all co-exist."

So does this mean that at some point we could have a Infinite crisis movie one day? where we could see Henry Cavill's Superman and Stephen Amell's Arrow on the small or big screen? possible Johns said they haven't ruled anything completely out, "There’s been discussions over the years for both, obviously. You never say never. Maybe one day we’ll link a show to a film if it makes sense, but the creative process we’re going through right now is to let the stuff live and breathe and be its own thing and own it."

Here's the DC "response". :lol

According to a few of BOF’s BvS insiders, the first teaser trailer for the film is complete and ready to go. The overt hint I got from these folks is that the teaser will be revealed this Fall along with a November or December film release (and online, of course). I have no idea to which specific film it may be “attached,” but New Line’s (which is Warner Bros.’ sister company) THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES is being released on December 17, 2014.

By the way Batman fans, I’ve heard that this teaser is “Batman heavy.”

This is just bs talk. How can you even make sense of of two different people playing flash, for example.

Either the shows and movies are connected or it's not. :lol

You can't just have both operate in its own vacuum and then connect whenever you feel like it.

Some of the ppl who run DC should just stop :lol

DC should just find a ceo who actually cares about the medium instead of making money like John Lasseter over at Disney/Pixar and Kevin Feige at Marvel.

It's completely possible, if you know comics then you should know multi-verse.

It isn't far fetch and at least they've considered it and do not completely dismiss the different worlds.

Multi-verse is nothing new. Marvel has their own version with multiple Earths.

Going the multiverse angle is going to make a mess of things really quickly. It still remains to be seen if DC can handle making one cohesive universe now you want to throw other universes into the mix and have a big party.

Sure, let's have Henry Cahill and Tom Welling hold hands as they kick collective ***. It'll be fun.

It's not just DC. I wouldn't support Marvel doing that strategy either.

Yeah but you can't just knock it until you actually see it and where it goes.

Now there is confirmation that there are two universe so no more "well is Gustin going to show up int he movie?" or "is Arrow/Amell going to have a cameo in BvS?".

Right now there are two separate worlds, they didn't say they will combine it for sure. They clearly said if the opportunity arises and it works, then they might do it.

At least it is an option for the fans to enjoy or ponder. You are jumping way ahead.

I mean seriously if they can't handle a single universe and their whole plan just fails, then you wouldn't even have to worry about them combining the worlds.

You posted this...

Either the shows and movies are connected or it's not.

Right now, it's not. That is all you need to know really because there is no plan to connect the two right now. Why call it BS when someone just clarifies the situation? Because you didn't like the answer? :lol

In the end it is about making money, come on now. :lol Feige could make great Marvel films for the fans, make it rated R and all but if it didn't make money then Disney would kick him out without hesitation. :rollin

It's not really clarifying the situation. The answer is equivalent to 'it's a no, but maybe one day, it'll be a yes, if we feel like it' lol

And again right now, there are two separate worlds.

How is that BS talk?

It's pretty clear they won't meet each other RIGHT NOW. How is that not clear? :lol

You want him to just say "no, it will never happen!"? You got to always leave the possibilities open or else they call BS on you later on if you lie. Do you really want a 100% assurance the world won't combine one day to enjoy anything they do?

It's BS talk cuz he said no while at the same time saying one day it can be different. Amel is saying it should be one way or not.

I think the real bull **** lies with in the fact that DC isn't ever really going to connect the two. You'll never see dude playing Green Arrow ever meet a movie Green Arrow or show up in a DC movie.

It BS talk cuz he didn't give a clear answer.

If he gave a clear answer and I still didn't like it, I would've said it was stupid talk.

I am not going to go back and forth with you just because you assume you already know what DC will do.

And Geoff said they are in separate universe in a multiverse world. They aren't connected now and but could some day.

Why is that so hard to understand?

Why does the two have to be separate the whole time or why do you need a guarantee it will be separate and never combine or vice-versa?

So if he says they are never going to meet-up 100% and you like that then you are happy?

And if they said it will be combined later for sure, you don't like it and call it stupid?

Or vice-versa.

But since he said there are two universe that co-exist but are separate RIGHT NOW (but again already co-exist but there isn't a door to each world at the moment) and then later they add a doorway for the two universe to meet-up in case they are a success and even if it works in the storyline, then that is BS?

And that isn't clear to you?

:rollin

It's not that it isn't clear. I just think he's talking out his *** and not being honest.

A tease without ever having to come through on it.

It's typical marketing spin. Float an interesting idea that isn't part of the short term or long term plan but it manages to address what could be a persistent nagging question.

That is clearly not what Amel is saying at all.

This is just bs talk. How can you even make sense of of two different people playing flash, for example.

He clearly asks how can two different Flash exist, that is a sign of someone not getting something clearly. It is so clear how it is explained how two different Flash exist. I don't even have to explain it again, just look at my last few posts. :lol

And yes it is marketing but anything said is marketing but just because he doesn't like the answer he gets doesn't mean it is BS.

Marketing isn't exclusive to DC, we can track back to all the things Feige has said (or any of the other Marvel/Disney employees) and I am sure you'll find some "BS" there too. How many times has Stan Lee confirmed Black Panther? And still no sign of him? And yes once it is announced he becomes right but if it happens 5 years after he said then all he has been saying could all be BS too.

Plus Geoff was asked/interviewed, it's not like he volunteered the idea or just blurted it out of nowhere. What was he suppose to do, just say "Hell no!, Never going to happen!"? Again it's practically a classic marketing scheme but it wasn't even an idea he tried to exploit, he just answered an interview question.

Exactly. An answer without giving an answer at all.

He must go to the school of Thibs lol

Not ******** on DC lol

Just noticing how the game is going.. They've both been going back and forth with the news for a while now. I'm sure Marvel will have a "response" whenever DC does drop a BvS teaser.

A part of me honestly feels like BvS will end up being moved up even more

Why are people surprised that DC wont intergrate the TV universe to thr cinematic universe to convienience the 1.3% of fans who actually watch the shows? :lol

Word. I'm a huge fan of Arrow but I don't care how much Parkour him and Abecrombie do in the show, there's no way they can hang with movie-verse Superman and Batfleck the God.

"There will be two Batsuits in the movie, both of which we've seen; the regular and armoured version from the leaked San Diego Comic-Con footage. The latter will apparently have Kryptonite all over it AND the ability to shoot missiles! There are also two Batmobiles, and the site point back to an earlier report in which they heard that there would be a flying vehcile in the movie. Finally, we will indeed be getting to see Ben Affleck shirtless, but this isn't just to show off his physique...it's apparently, "beautifully shot and shows Affleck overlooking a destroyed city (probably Metropolis?)."
